That's for professional and pre-professional ballerinas. Their companies buy their shoes so they don't have to worry about making them last for more than a few days. Also, as a beginner, you have to let your feet strengthen and the best way is to let your feet break in your shoes. That allows them to form to your foot naturally. And once you know how your shoes should feel, you learn what to do in order to allow you to break them well without consequentially letting them d!e too fast.

Focusing a lot about those feet, but it's the all body you have to work with. And about the legs, all strech out knees curving in. It's actually how you spot professional ballet dancers, looking at theirs toned curving legs. And all those exercices you do in demi-pointe should also feel easy on pointe. A big aaaall strech from the ground to the sky, that how you have good balance. I used to break my pointes hanging around in my house. Doing a few strech or relevés when I felt like it. I was on pointe before toes pad. I used thick winter sock back then, we also wore one over the pointes to make them last longer. Gotta be carefull though 'cause it could be very slippery depending on what type of floor you're on. By the way, same goes for high heel shoes. You could break them as well so you won't hurt yourself.
I remember trying to maximize my arch...I would put the top of my feet under a low piece of furniture, then do everything I could to press my knees straight! I'm lucky I didn't break a foot!!
@@amyralls6218 My first teacher taught herself to ballet. Therefore she injuried herself a lot along her way. She was very communicative about it, which made us very self aware. We would maximize our arch, with sumo squat, but our legs closed and feet on pointes, walls supporting our knees, our butt pressing on our heels. But I believe walking around on high heels could do the trick as well, if the sole is flexible enough.
Or she needs to cut the shank in half, soften up the box, sew one ankle elastic and proper ribbons - basically sacrifice this first pair, in order to get a feeling for pointe. Starting pointe is difficult and really reveals a lack of suppleness and strength in the foot and ankle, and a lack of turnout and body alignment. I wonder if it's wise at this stage.
Eva your journey is so inspiring, thank you so much, I started ballet last month at 25 years old because of the videos you share with us, thank you, it was a lifetime dream of mine
@@cristina95 Aww, I wish you lots of luck and joy on yours too! I just came back from lesson 3, and all I can think is "damn, my body is useless" haha 🤣
I think that is part of the problem. Eva needs to sacrifice this first pair and seriously distress them in order to get a real feel for pointe, and even just to be safe. Oh, and proper ankle elastic and ribbons tied correctly.
If these are stream pointes then the reason you have a hard shank is because these shoes have a way softer shank than other shoes. The hard shank in a stream pointe is similar to a soft/medium shank in other pointe shoes. I found this out when I started wearing stream pointes
@Julthebaddie They can if they have a lot of leg strength and very good ankles. Anyone can start, you just need to know that your leg strength is powerful and your ankle strength can hold your weight. You don't really need YEARS AND YEARS of training. Maybe like 2 years or 3 until you know you have good strength or muscles. Or if you're just gonna do it for fun one day, like how Eva is doing here :)
@@mayascrew3172 eva isnt just doing this for fun shes been dancing for a few years i think. its really dangerous to just do it with no training at all. and yes you do need 2-5 years of training it heavily depends on the person and how long it takes for them to develop strength 3 years is most common. you also cant just get pointe shoes whenever you want you most likely always need a note from the director of your studio. please do not encourage non-ballet dancers or beginners to buy pointe shoes they could suffer from permanent injuries due to it. anyone can start ballet but you cant just start pointe one day
That was so fun. Thank you for sharing. My first pointe class was also pretty terrible. Pointe is so funny. No matter how much you prepare, it's still SO DIFFERENT than anything you've ever done. There's just no way to really be prepared, I feel like. The good thing is, while ballet never gets any easier, you will get better. I remember thinking there was no way in hell my feet were going to get over in second, but I'm doing it! You'll get there! Just keep working hard :D
Fyi: The wrapping first, and then sewing with the twists in it, would only work, if you inserted your foot into the ribbons and then your pointe shoes, whilst holding the pretwisted ribbons in their proper position
A fun video series idea would be that you could get different dancers, the ones from your tiktok/shorts, like Amber to try and teach their "specialty". So maybe one girl is best at a specific leap, or a turn. And their known for that skill. If that makes any sense.

Amber reminds me of Alexis Bledel from Gilmore Girls.
Looks exactly like her
Her face is great 😂😂😂😂
Girl, I love watching your journey!😊
i love the teacher personality
For your first time it looks like youre doing really well.
It’s so nice to see you all excited, it’s something you’re doing simply because you love it
Amber face game is everything
Don't forget to breathe un releve! It helps your balance.
I thinks it's obvious that you now have to do the "how fast can you put on your point shoe" challenge right?!
EVA, I'M SO PROUD OF YOU! I'm currently on a similar journey, and your videos motivate me so much! You are amazing, and congrats for going on point!
Congratulations girl!! Most wouldn't even try what you are doing. It's a lot easier when u do anything from childhood but I admire your dedication and desire to keep going. And if it makes u smile that's also a good thing ❤❤
If this is her first time… she’s doing pretty dang good. 😌. More power to Eva for getting here. It’s only up from here 😝 And to Amber you do you ☺️. You are awesome at your craft. Eva your photo art still rocks. 😋.
You’re doing so well! Just be confident that you can do these things with more practice in your new shoes. Like learning to walk in heels - it takes practice! 👠👠 🩰 👍👍
Amber would be a great teacher!!!
I totally love Amber faces... actually she do all the faces that I hold no to do when im teaching point to my adults students jajajajaj amber teams FOREVER... JAJAJAJJ THANKS FOR THE VIDEO... Eva we love you as well but I'm on the dark side with the teachers hahahahaha =p enjoy your RAINBOW moment with the pointe shoes!
@@PatchouliPenny thanks to the translation =) my poor English always fight with my phone corrector and this is a disaster jajajaja.... love u amber and Eva
@@Arkduu it's a pleasure . :) I understood you easily. Well done for speaking a different language so well. 👏

My first teacher taught herself to ballet.
Pointe is so pretty!
based off the video of the fitting, I think you just got the wrong shoe and really need that medium to light shank
Eva: I'M FINALLY A REAL BALLERINA! ALL MY DREAMS ARE COMING TRUUUEEE🥳🥺💖💖💖🩰🩰
Amber: Alright there, Margot Fonteyn, just... relax 😒
Eva your journey is so inspiring, thank you so much, I started ballet last month at 25 years old because of the videos you share with us, thank you, it was a lifetime dream of mine
Is the 95 in your username not your birth year? Because it's also mine and I started ballet last month as a 28 year old because of these videos 😂
@@rainymornings haha no, that would be 9th of may, my birthday, still we're very close in age, best of luck in your ballet journey! 💕
@@cristina95 Aww, I wish you lots of luck and joy on yours too! I just came back from lesson 3, and all I can think is "damn, my body is useless" haha 🤣
getting over the box can be hard at first, it may be the shoes pulling u back
I think that is part of the problem.
I really like that hairstyle on you and the passés were actually quite good
My toxic trait is thinking I can do this. 💀
You can. As long as you don't have any health concerns that may prevent it or make it dangerous.
Girl... get stepping. You can!
@@BeckBeckGothe can with years of training…
@Julthebaddie They can if they have a lot of leg strength and very good ankles. Anyone can start, you just need to know that your leg strength is powerful and your ankle strength can hold your weight. You don't really need YEARS AND YEARS of training. Maybe like 2 years or 3 until you know you have good strength or muscles. Or if you're just gonna do it for fun one day, like how Eva is doing here :)
@@mayascrew3172 eva isnt just doing this for fun shes been dancing for a few years i think. its really dangerous to just do it with no training at all. and yes you do need 2-5 years of training it heavily depends on the person and how long it takes for them to develop strength 3 years is most common. you also cant just get pointe shoes whenever you want you most likely always need a note from the director of your studio. please do not encourage non-ballet dancers or beginners to buy pointe shoes they could suffer from permanent injuries due to it. anyone can start ballet but you cant just start pointe one day
i feel like i’m watching a vhs tape LMAOO love this
Amber is a great teacher 😊
That was so fun. Thank you for sharing. My first pointe class was also pretty terrible. Pointe is so funny. No matter how much you prepare, it's still SO DIFFERENT than anything you've ever done. There's just no way to really be prepared, I feel like. The good thing is, while ballet never gets any easier, you will get better. I remember thinking there was no way in hell my feet were going to get over in second, but I'm doing it! You'll get there! Just keep working hard :D
how long did it take?
Fyi: The wrapping first, and then sewing with the twists in it, would only work, if you inserted your foot into the ribbons and then your pointe shoes, whilst holding the pretwisted ribbons in their proper position
A fun video series idea would be that you could get different dancers, the ones from your tiktok/shorts, like Amber to try and teach their "specialty". So maybe one girl is best at a specific leap, or a turn. And their known for that skill. If that makes any sense.
That's a cool idea!
