Completely agree, they did Bladerunner 2 and it was awful, same withTrainspotting 2, totally awful... Aliens and Terminator 2 are the only sequels that have been as good as the original... Some things are better left alone

That's awesome. First time I watched Derek Jacoby was in the series "I, Claudius" and that's a looooong time ago! It's as if DJ have been around since the Roman Empire itself. It crumbled, DJ stayed strong. :))) Great actor.
Gladiator is one of the best films ever made. Hard one to follow up. Hope it will be great.

The first battle in the original movie, completely put me off. The German barbarians sang a Zulu war chant.

If Derek Jacobi is returning, with a 30 year later setting, he must be 100 years old.
Derek Jacobi is about the same age as Ridley Scott. If it's OK for Scott to direct at 85, Jacobi can still act.

@@elephantintheroom7102 Oh, sorry, l misunderstood! Yes, if that senator he portrayed was around 60 or so, he would have 30 years later an unusual lifespan for the times. To reach one's 70s was probably considered ancient. Let's hope Gladiator ll will be as good as the original.👍

Ridley Scott is a top director so it should be a good film especially if Denzel is involved
I thought that would be the case with Napoleon but Ridley dropped the ball on that one and he needs to redeem himself now.

In some ways it's as well that maximus did die in the original because the last time I saw Russell Crow he was obese, so much so I wonder if he will appear in anything .

Ridley Scott, did an accurate but terrible job on Napoleon. This film will be a bust. Very disappointed with the lack of battles and only focusing on the negative/losses of Napoleon. Doing a film on an actual historical person shouldn’t be biased. Liberal Hollywood…..
