The "View Depth Level" does control the visibility of objects below the "Bottom" setting, but not just whether they are visible or not - it also makes them a special line style called so that the line work looks different and highlights the fact that the objects are actually below the floor (assuming your "bottom" setting is the floor line). Hope that answers your question!

I've used revit for a long time. I've never understood the difference between "Bottom" and "View Depth Level". Don't they do the same thing?
