Love me some van buildin! Not sure your plans for a mattress but we use two REI 3.5 XL self inflating camp pads. Not overly thick and just as comfortable as the bed at home!
Your van build series has been really helpful. Did you have a buddy build those shelf brackets for the L-track or can you buy them? Now that you've had this configuration for a year, what would you do different?
My friend built them. After a year, I absolutely LOVE it. It’s been really versatile and comfy. If I could change anything, I’d put L-Track in going up and down and be able to lower the upper shelf/bunk for sleeping to make it a little roomier up there but it’s not terrible and that would require a lot more work to put supports in for the L-Track. I might do that later if I get some extra time/money. But other than that, it’s been a really good setup.
@@highlandcycles Thank you . I was wondering about vertical L track so you have the option of adjusting the bed wherever you want (but wasn't sure how you would do that with the curve/taper of the walls/roof. I've enjoyed your build. I want to do something similar where it can be used to haul as many bikes as possible for just day trip kind of stuff, but also have the option for camping for 1-2 night trips for races or multi-day trail rides. There are a million and one "van life" videos and everything is a compromise because I want a flexible configuration that allows for a motohauler AND some passengers, and some camping :)
Morgan, can you tell me how tall your garage space is for bikes? i want to build a loft bed like you made but need to know how tall to clear the bikes...thanks!!
I’m doing the same with a transit that I use for work and will be a motovan. What do you plan for the ceiling? I wish Ford made something that matched the sides.
lookin good
Thanks man
So awesome!
bravo.
Thanks
Epic build. looks great.
Thanks
Nice van my. Dad has a 20 foot Trailer and we sleep on shelves on the side of the trailer it’s pretty cool

@@ridewithmike962 this set up is really good for just that. I can carry 5 people and 4 bikes if I put one on a hitch carrier.
Come to So Cal, it's always warm here!
We will for sure. Just gotta figure out when.
@@highlandcycles You guys can stay with us here, or we can all camp out!

Uhhh... I will have to measure. I just made it 3 inches higher than the bars. The overall height of the van inside is like 6'9" I think
Do you have a hitch step for that thing yet?
Nah. It’s low enough
