- This has been way too long in the making. It's definitely a fabrication project, and a dirty one at that. BUT! after snorting in grinding dust and paint fumes; we finally have a platform on which to sleep.

Great vid. Been looking do something similar so I can have bikes underneath the bed and be able to sleep in the van without having to unload them. Is this working out pretty good. Can you get two bikes in the van with your batteries on the left-hand side. Can’t wait to see the finished product thanks
I can definitely fit 2 bikes. It works great! As far as price we ordered it a couple years ago, and it was around $1k after freight, but I’d assume it’s more expensive now. 😞
When you say “good night honey, I love you!”, does your wife get mad that you’re talking to your bike?

What the hell is that drill bit ? it just ploughed through that steel ! I've got step drills but they don't rip through like that

why didnt you put the bed all the way to the back?
So it’s as far back as it can go. The back of the van curves inward as you go up toward the roof. So when the bed’s down it’s about 2 inches from the rear doors. When the bed is up, it’s flush with the top of the doors. Hopefully that makes sense.
Started watching...cool engineering cool design...but, im not a welder or fabricator...so this is not DIY for me...above my paygrade
