Louis' Kenya vlogs are in a league of their own and SO MUCH better than most of his other recent videos - really stunning drone footage and beautiful scenery. What an incredible place! Can't wait for the rest!
I'm from Kenya...and i can say this with some authority...the tourism that louis and his girlfriend provided fpr our country..is going to be significantly more effective than if they donated the water in the hot tub to nearby villages....trust me
I am heading to Kenya in May and I am so excited to vlog there it's my favorite place in the world!! Does anyone know what lens he might be using at 2:40 ??? thanks!!!
wowwwwwww this place looks amazing. I've never seen a rain cloud like that - it looked insane that you could actually see it pouring buckets. and so awesome that you finally found the leapord. music on this one was also really good and fit the video very well. loved it
Though I am watching this 2 years after the fact, it really brought back a lot of my memories from when I was in Kenya. I never made it to Samburu area but was completely caught off guard when Nikki greeted you followed by Scott because they both were with Wild Earth/Safari Live when I first knew of them and I think Scott was back with them for a short time last year but hated to see him leave again. I am looking forward to seeing your Day 2 next since I started out with Day 3, then Day 1 now...thanks for sharing your experiences with this set of videos. Have a great day wherever you are!
Most of u put here don't get it. Any wild animal is likely to attack u when u look like a threat to its kids or family... Or when u go too close to its territory. So these guys sleep in the territory of docile animals likely vegetable eating animals. These r usually active during the day not night. Again.. Haven't u seen them close to lions like twenty feet n the lions ignore them? It's because when some or most of these animals see humans they don't identify that as food. We r naturally not in their food chain. It would be different if these guys traveled with a cow goat or some sheep in the car or tent. Then we would have some problems coz the lions or leopards would come to get the food. I hope this kind of explains your fears. If u need more info on how the animals in my country behave just mail me and we can talk more on Kevinokal@gmx.com. Adios
tourism of any kind is alway welcomed whether or not your stay is at a Luxury lodge is besides the point I'm just glad he was able to show Kenya and its beauty even though it's not the whole picture. Besides I'm sure we are all aware of the problems it's the only thing anyone seems to show
WOW, that is a beautiful place. And here I was excited last night after going out driving around after midnight to play Pokemon GO and at the end of my dead end road is a wooden area where I saw 3 deer, a rabbit and a skunk. I was excited to see all that wildlife in one night. I do live in a city, but the small area at the end of the road is heavily wooden.
You shouldve gone to elephant watch camp. They use all recycled material, employ all local staff and produce, and most importantly support save the elephants. You wont see no swimming pools there
There is an old saying "there's no such thing as bad publicity". Given all the banter in this chat area, my guess is this is going to motivate more people to support the project and get this funded as people dig in as to whether the project is a good idea or not. So for those who are against it, and quite vocal about it, you might just be ensuring this project gets funded.
I watched the BBC programme Amazing Hotels the other night and this lodge featured! I couldn't believe it was the same one! I swear Jacob was on the programme too haha love it.
Hi Louis! We are a Kenyan couple that are BIIIIIGG fans of you and Raya!.. This is an open invitation to show the native Nairobi experience you'll love!
LOUIE IN BOTSWANA THIS IS A DESCREASE FOR ME TO LIVING IN AFRICA TO SEE YOU COMING FROM FAR TO COME AND SEE MY CONTIENENT NO SCRACH THAT OUR CONTINENT ITS REALLY NICE COME OVER TO BOTSWANA TO SEE HOW IT GIOES DOWN
Louis, I love your vlogs and what you do, but I hoped this documentary to be about different cultures and the needs and struggles of different populations while as shown in this first episode it seemed to be about the privilege of your group of friends to use the best resources while the large majority of the population of Kenya struggles to stay hydrated at least. As a viewer I ask you to please use your popularity and your privilege to help others and to direct the attention of the mainstream youtube media to the challenges people face and how privileged people can help to minimize their suffering. Not that you don't deserve a good quality time of rest and leisure, it's just that you have the power to change stuff, like Jerome does, for example, and sometimes I get frustrated with your use of it. We don't need more videos about exoticized populations in developing countries and the amount of resources privileged people can use in them. We need in-depth conversation of wealth distribution, racism, contemporary slavery and the enormous inequality that cause the majority of the world population to suffer. I know you can do better than this, Louis! You seem to have a big heart but maybe you just aren't involved with the most needed topics of concern of humanity. Take this as a solid critique rather than a "hater comment". Thank yoooou
Igor Maravalhas too much opinionated words Kenya does not have a water problem I am Kenyan and samburu is dry because it is a semi desert. don't get too harsh because you have only seen one side of Kenya and actually I quite enjoyed the vlog
Ok. Some of the comments here... I just...What is it people don't get with Kickstarter? You buy something straight from the source and the money goes to the right place and not all these other companies as well. It's not a charity. If you have the means, you buy the "product " that you want. Just like going to a store and buying whatever you want from there. If you believe in the message behind "Beyond Borders", then you buying one of the options on Kickstarter is an investment in the project and when the movie is finished your investment will pay off. Or during the making, if you buy one of the options that gives you the right to be a part of making the movie/be in it/be in the plane. If you don't believe in the project, don't buy anything. That simple.
Louis' Kenya vlogs are in a league of their own and SO MUCH better than most of his other recent videos - really stunning drone footage and beautiful scenery. What an incredible place! Can't wait for the rest!
dayum why doesn't louis donate drones to the gamekeepers? would definitely help with poacher surveilance
I think i have seen exactly the same lodge from Ben's vlog .
wow we have our own pool meanwhile all the near by villages cant find water and a serve drought is going on that makes cease
thats not drinkable water. Also you dont need as much.
lawl
Of course it was drinkable water before they added chlorine & other chemicals to it!
"Is that a male elephant?" Bruv you can see his bollocks from a mile off
I'm from Kenya...and i can say this with some authority...the tourism that louis and his girlfriend provided fpr our country..is going to be significantly more effective than if they donated the water in the hot tub to nearby villages....trust me

Jason Asselin that's what I thought too!!!
Jason Asselin the guards with guns and they don't like interfering with people anyway
There's a fence around the perimeter.
