    You're confused guy...when running STICK or MIG running DC+ puts the majority heat on the base metal...the heat distribution facts you just gave are for TIG only...not STICK or MIG.

    • @hyperhektor7733
      @hyperhektor7733 4 роки тому

      also AC stick weld should be the heat 50-50% since its alternating polatiy. For Mig Fluxcore the Polarity is negative on the electrode which means its similar to to TIG in the terms of heat (majority on the basemetall)

      If you understand the how of welding and you enjoy it... then the art of welding is sure to follow. Some folks can get metal to stay put and that's a good thing, if that's the goal. But then the craftsman welding artist will instantly impress with their skills and leave you guessing just 'how' you got it to look so pretty.
      The difference between the 2 welders .. how much they enjoy what they're doing. Live to work ..or.. work to live. Make good choices and good luck!

    sir give me answer..... why tig welding have more strength as compared to mig welding .... give me reasons..???

    • @LordPadriac
      @LordPadriac 4 роки тому +8

      It's really very simple. MIG welders do not fuse the two metals together; it just melts the rod and leaves the weld behind. It is not bonded much beneath the surface level of the metal though. If you grind away at a MIG weld to polish it up you can grind it away completely and separate the two pieces of metal because they were never truly welded. Mig welders are more like hot glue guns for metal. Strong enough in a lot of cases but you don't want to push it too far.
      TIG welding is a modern replacement for the older gas welding. TIG welding actually heats the metal all the way through and fuses the two pieces of metal into one piece of metal. You can grind or machine a TIG weld nice and flat for a "pretty" appearance and not break the two pieces of metal apart because they are no longer two separate pieces of metal.

    For the stick welding off of a generator. What kind of power do you need from the generator to run the welder. Can you recommend generator welder combinations that you have had good experience with. Specifically interested in getting equipment to build something like the mueller metal buildings. Not sure about the thickness but I think the red iron is 10 inch wide flange.

    I have a MIG welder and have never had any issues with the welds. Stick on the other hand is reliable but is sometimes sloppy and you can get bad welds. I don't do anything artistic or intricate so TIG is never appealed to me.

    Need some recommendations. Just getting into welding. I want to be able to do DIY projects (Metal table legs, shelves, etc) but also be able to help my dad on the farm to repair metal fencing, build/repair bale rings, etc. What type/model/brand of welder would be best for that to start out? I'd like to be able to keep in the back of my truck to go out to remote places if possible. Totally green here.

      Stick welder

    • @CharlesWBallewJr
      @CharlesWBallewJr 3 роки тому

      Greetings:
      Farm duties go with stick and for DIY you can use MIG or TIG.
      MIG is faster and cheaper (for the most part) than TIG, but TIG you can get a cleaner looking weld.
      Personally, my DIY is around RV's and RV parks where a MIG or Stick would be an issue, so I have chosen TIG.
      In my opinion if you go with a Stick for farm/outside and a MIG for DIY you may be happier in the long run.
      It's possible if you get a TIG/Stick combo you may be grabbing a MIG down the line for big DIY projects that you need to finish quickly cause you will be grinding or painting over welds.
      That said a multi-process welder with Stick/TIG/MIG would be a good option, or a MIG/Stick and grab a TIG latter if you choose to do precise work where the weld is a feature of the project.
      As for brand etc., that depends on money. I have always been told buy the best you can afford, and that is my advice to you with the caveat that customer service is highly praised by customers i.e.. PrimeWeld brand.
      Let us say money is no object then get a Fronius and never look back from what I'm told that machine does most the work for you.
