Unfortunately for a long time starting with the so-called war on terror Muslim women covering their hair and Islamic teachings, in general, came under huge pressure. That's why many Muslims had to justify the hijab from a rational and cultural perspective and not a religious perspective. If you tried to justify the concept of hijab from a religious perspective you would be instantly vilified. Even in the Olympics, Muslim female athletes were only allowed to cover their hair after they said it was part of their culture, not religion. But Alhamdulillah now that the USA has finally lost the so-called war on terror Muslims are becoming brave again and speaking out. But a lot of damage has already been done and will take a long time to reverse the huge damage done to the Muslim community by the social and religious consequences of the so-called war on terror.

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatoh Shaykh, I don’t know if you have time to read these comments and answer questions, but if you have staff for such or you did read them, I will ask. You mentioned that the Prophet, salla Allahu alaihi wa salami, wiped over his khimaar. This brings me to ask, can I wipe over my ‘hijab’, my khimaar? In public washrooms or parks, making wudu isn’t always exactly receptive, and the access to wiping over the hair and the ears isn’t easy. Can we wipe over our hijab and go under it to wipe the ears?
I love your lecture Dr. Qadhi but there are 2 corrections, 1) please don't compare "Hijab is my choice" to " Mera jism meri marzi" it's our (hijabi women's) insult, both slogans even though they sound similar have very different ideology and agenda and opposition. It's like saying " BLACK lives matter" and " All lives matter" are same slogans. 2) we are not saying Hijab is my choice to Allah or in an Islamic context, we are saying hijab is my choice in public domain where no one can force us to were anything or remove anything. Just like praying is fard but in Islamic context not in public domain, so I can't force an adult to pray. Eg. Murder is prohibited in Islamic and public domain so I can stop you forcefully when you are killing some one but I can't do that when it comes to praying or fasting or hijab or beard etc. In those matters you have a choice to abide by Allah's rules or bare the consequences.
But his first point is precisely that the public domain suffers when Allah's rules are not followed. I'm not saying that Hijab should be forced, but it can be (and should be) a matter of public discourse.
Sheikh what's your opinion on wearing a headscarf along with a loose-long coat/ jacket over the casual clothes? By headscarf I mean a shawl which is wrapped, covering the hair, not necessarily extending over the bosom. And instead of extending the shawl over the Bosom wear a loose-long blazer/coat over the clothes worn underneath? My purpose behind this question is weather if we can as Muslim women can take the Khimar mixed with fashion, following the regulations prescribed suit out clothing to blend with the contemporary society. Muslim women live across different parts of the world. Each with different styles of clothing in their own communities. Can we incorporate into our Deen modest sense of fashion, not only making it open to other sisters to wear the Khimar but also show to the non Muslims that we can practice our Deen and still live a part of modern society. Many sisters I know of give up wearing Khimar because it's so alien to what we see other wear. Can't we as Muslim women use modern fashion WHILE following the Arkans of wearing the Khimar into our style of clothing. I would be much appreciated if you would take consideration in answering this, because keeping up with modern society as well as Islamic values can be done hand in hand. It doesn't have to be a choice. Suggested above is a way which combines the two, believe. Please give your view on this situation

sister! If you read the mentioned verse 31 of surah noor carefully you will the get answer that it is permissible to show the servents your zeenah إِنْشَاءَ ٱللَّٰهُ
Sometimes I'm saddened by how no matter how clearly you explain things Sheikh, people are still not going to listen to the whole thing and will pick and choose only that which they wanna hear. I've seen some people misinterpreting your lectures from long ago which said a similar thing, that "hijab is not as important as salah," and they use it to justify them not wearing the hijab.
@@iamhijabsterz9556 If what you're trying to say is that men shouldn't talk about hijab because it could easily be misused by Islamophobes to say Muslim men force things onto their women, then I think your comment is a bit misplaced. Because I was simply saying I'm saddened. I don't see how that could be misinterpreted to say the above.
I'm sorry brother, but all that is being requested is to cover their breasts. The head covering was already part of their cultural fashion. Not that the headscarf is mandatory. The mandatory part was to cover the breasts.
HIJAB IS NOT A CULTURAL FASHION as in the fashion industry. It's commanded by our creator to keep us safe from lecherous looks among other things. There is no compulsion in our religion. We are given the choice between right and wrong.
1) He linked awra with promuscuity but there are African tribes where the women don't cover their breasts and it's normal and they have no promuscuity issues or not more than any other culture where women do cover their breasts. So this would be a point for awra linked to cultural context. There is promuscuity even in countries where hijab is worn. 2) There are neurological experiments done with addiction to porn and this dopamine shows up on a different time-point (I think it was after the orgasm) and not when watching porn therefore concluding that porn is not addictive per se. The addiciton is not more different than one who likes to masturbate without porn or one having an higher biological sex drive. BUT it does have a social negative impact (human trafficking, women in need for money, child abuse, etc.)!!! 3) Adam and Eve (as) covered their awra with leaves. Is it practical for Eve to cover her whole body with leaves while caring for her children without worrying that one leaf might fall off and still be comfortable in walking and caring her children? Even in the sharia, slave women were not obliged to wear hijab because of their duties and in the slave market, slave-women were sometimes naked to assess their feasability. 4) The Quranic terms are very general so it can be applied throughout cultures according to their norms. The verse also implied that they already wore the khumr which is not always the case in every culture. The one extra thing the women were commanded was to cover their breasts which Arab culture knew that if they did not cover thir bosoms, these women were flirting with modesty according to their norms since revelation did not come yet. The women just wanted to be seen and did not care that much for modesty. Even in the Western culture it is known that women wearing short skirts and low-cut are drawing attention. Since Allah did not specify "Woman's beauty", scholars are interpreting beauty according to their cultural opbringing. Imagine a Western scholar who has no idea of the Arab culture was interpreting women's beauty. The norms for women's beauty changed througout culture and history. 5) "Stomp their feet" is not done in Western culture but the wisdom again is to not draw attention again linked to cultural norms (e.g. walking too sexy, lol) 6) Commandment for jilbaab was directed to the wives for the prophet (as) because they draw extra attention like queens and princesses or like other wives of leaders/rulers. And again they were not slave-women doing hard chores. 7) All those school of thoughts were based in cultures were it was prevalent that noble women covered themselves without revelation. Therefore already setting some standards.
i am sorry but these are the most desperate explanations adapted by people to disobey the Hijab commandments of Allah . No point of arguing here but these are all very ridiculous and intentional twisting the aayaat of quran as per ones whims and desires and this is nothing new. the jews did this and Allah condemns them in Quran .
What about the Quran? What does the Quran say about the hijab? Did you know that the word "hijab" is mentioned 8 times in the Quran but none fits your narrative of the "hijab!" In these 2 verses, "hijab" could be taken to mean "veil" but it does NOT fit your narrative of a "hijab." 38:32 He said, 'I have preferred the love of niceties to the remembrance of my Lord-until it disappeared behind the veil 42:51 It is not for any human that God should speak to him, except by inspiration, or from behind a veil, or by sending a messenger to reveal by His permission whatever He wills. He is All-High, All-Wise On the other 6 instances, the word "hijab" is taken to mean either "a partition" or a "screen" or "a barrier." Without a doubt your definition of a "hijab" to mean "covering for your women folk" is just the invention of your revered religious scholars which you, either consciously or otherwise, helped propagate. salam.
You will find the context of those verses in the biography of the life of Prophet , upon whom those verses were revealed. Obviously a word may have a different meaning in different sentences, it is a common feature in every language.
@@Omar-yh4mc So, who is this "we" and are you making it simple for Satan to mislead people? If the Quran does not use the word "hijab" as you would have liked, why do you keep repeating the same mistakes by people before you. Go read the Quran and you will come across verses such as this: 2:75 So can you [believers] hope that such people will believe you, when some of them used to hear the words of God and then deliberately twist them, even when they understood them? You know people have deliberately changed the meaning of Allah's word since the beginning of time, yes? You doing the same devilish thing in 2022 still doesn't make it right, does it now? Hope you realize your greatest sin before death catches up on you. salam.
@@Omar-yh4mc Yo, bro... you must spare some of your precious time to learn from the Quran because what you think is true is actually false especially when it involves the "majority of humans!" 5:49 And that you judge between them by what (has) revealed Allah and (do) not follow their vain desires and beware of them lest they tempt you away from some (of) what has revealed Allah to you. And if they turn away then know that only intends Allah to afflict them for some (of) their sins. And indeed, the majority of the people (are) defiantly disobedient. 6:128 And (the) Day He will gather them all, (and will say), "O assembly (of) [the] jinn! Certainly, you have (misled) the majority of the mankind." And will say their friends among the men, "Our Lord profited some of us by others, and we have reached our term which You appointed for us." He will say, "The Fire (is) your abode, will abide forever in it, except (for) what wills Allah Indeed, your Lord (is) All-Wise, All-Knowing. Don't take my word for it but go study the Quran for yourself and go find if Allah has ever said that the "majority of humans" will enter Paradise. salam.

Plus d NORMS of same sex marriages, this ruins d essence of men and women marriages

24:03?? Not as important?
Please also do a discussion of Niqab or the face covering, as the discussion on khimar, jilbab and hijab. Jazakallahu Khairan.
Alhamdulillah for God. Not man made religion !!!
5) "Stomp their feet" is not done in Western culture but the wisdom again is to not draw attention again linked to cultural norms (e.g. walking too sexy, lol)
6) Commandment for jilbaab was directed to the wives for the prophet (as) because they draw extra attention like queens and princesses or like other wives of leaders/rulers.
He is just spiting plain water from his mouth , nonsense
What about the Quran? What does the Quran say about the hijab?
Did you know that the word "hijab" is mentioned 8 times in the Quran but none fits your narrative of the "hijab!"
In these 2 verses, "hijab" could be taken to mean "veil" but it does NOT fit your narrative of a "hijab."
38:32 He said, 'I have preferred the love of niceties to the remembrance of my Lord-until it disappeared behind the veil
42:51 It is not for any human that God should speak to him, except by inspiration, or from behind a veil, or by sending a messenger to reveal by His permission whatever He wills. He is All-High, All-Wise
On the other 6 instances, the word "hijab" is taken to mean either "a partition" or a "screen" or "a barrier."
Without a doubt your definition of a "hijab" to mean "covering for your women folk" is just the invention of your revered religious scholars which you, either consciously or otherwise, helped propagate.

You will find the context of those verses in the biography of the life of Prophet , upon whom those verses were revealed. Obviously a word may have a different meaning in different sentences, it is a common feature in every language.
@@Umme-45 Please quote the surah & verse numbers if you really did read the Quran and you are not lying.

@@Omar-yh4mc So, who is this "we" and are you making it simple for Satan to mislead people?
If the Quran does not use the word "hijab" as you would have liked, why do you keep repeating the same mistakes by people before you. Go read the Quran and you will come across verses such as this:
2:75 So can you [believers] hope that such people will believe you, when some of them used to hear the words of God and then deliberately twist them, even when they understood them?
You know people have deliberately changed the meaning of Allah's word since the beginning of time, yes?
You doing the same devilish thing in 2022 still doesn't make it right, does it now?
Hope you realize your greatest sin before death catches up on you.

@@Omar-yh4mc Yo, bro... you must spare some of your precious time to learn from the Quran because what you think is true is actually false especially when it involves the "majority of humans!"
5:49 And that you judge between them by what (has) revealed Allah and (do) not follow their vain desires and beware of them lest they tempt you away from some (of) what has revealed Allah to you.

We do not use word Hijab instead Jilbab, Khimar
I’m so sorry but this is all misguidance.
