    I have the Coros Pace 2. I loved it better than the Garmin Fenix 6. I gave away my Fenix 6. I bought a Coros Vertix 2. Liked it but didn’t love it. I sent it back because the gps wasn’t accurate even though it is supposed to have multi band gps. Wasn’t much difference between the Vertix 2 and Coros Pace 2 gps accuracy. Then I got the Garmin 955 and love it! GPS accuracy is amazing and connects in my home! I run in heavily wooded areas (The Woodlands, Texas). The Garmin 955 has blown Coros and my other Garmin watches out of the water when it comes to GPS accuracy. Love the metrics with the 955. I do like the Coros App better. However, GPS accuracy is the game-changer for me and my Garmin 955 is my preferred running watch. Loved your video!

    Great review - thanks for this! I just bought a Coros pace 2 and before I bought it, I’d been using a simple Fitbit for the longest time; and so I couldn’t decide whether my upgrade should be Garmin or Coros. Decided on the latter and loving the GPS connectivity and battery life on this thing. I’m sure Garmin woulda been good for its own reasons (compared to my previous) but your review convinced me these guys (at Coros) have that side (GPS + battery) of things down, so I have no qualms sticking with this brand for at least the next few years.

      I just purchased a Garmin 955, which is my first sports watch. The GPS connection is absolutely immediate, and the tracking appears to be very accurate when I look at the map after my runs. The Connect app is information overload for me still after the first month, but it’s been fun and fairly intuitive. I was considering a Coros but the Apex was due for a refresh and the new Garmins were just being released. I’m rooting for Coros, as Garmin needs the competition. It’s great that they are so responsive to their users and are constantly improving their software, though it always sounded to me like they were more or less trying to copy Garmin?
      My only complaint with the 955 so far has been the sleep tracking/scores. I’m sure I toss and turn a bit more often than some, but I get “poor” ratings routinely even when it says I slept for eight hours.
      I hope you keep loving your new watch!

    Hi, nice review!
    I come from the Garmin world, with a Forerunner from several years ago.
    What I can't stand about my Garmin is that in training, the countdown is not heard in the headphones with the result of always starting late, the phases are called by number forcing you to distract yourself by looking at the screen to know what you have to do, then the alerts that you're off target are too frequent and intrusive and it's not clear - unless you look at the screen - if you're below or above and btw, they can't be heard in the headphones. Could you tell me if Coros has these defects? Bye and thanks

    Haven’t decided yet but I’m leaning towards Coros. The fact that I constantly hear that they are responsive with customers and keep improving their product old and new through firmware updates is a big plus. I love companies with integrity. But yeah. I know that the newest Garmins have ironed also improved key issues. So lastly I want to see if it’s true that Coros is more focused on a runners perspective and simpler in that respect. They’ve overhauled the app and interface recently and people only say good things about it.

      I think the only deciding factor against COROS Pace 2 (versus Garmin 55 or 245) was the inability to access their online portal until you reach a certain #minutes of running was one of the reasons against it. I'm a casual runner so it would take me longer to gain access. I have been accustomed to the TomTom Sports online portal to view all my activities - TomTom has quit selling watches & discontinuing their app & online portal 9/30/23. Less buttons to bump during non-running activities would've been one of Coros' most attractive aspects. I had viewed another's video & they said the flexible nylon band moved up to the forearm really assists COROS' heart rate accuracy.

      I wear both. Sometimes Coros locks faster, sometimes Garmin does... It's pretty 50/50. There are things I like more in both interfaces on the watch and on the phone/pc. Honestly I don't prefer one over the other. (I have a Pace-2 and a Venu-2). Accuracy of GPS? meh - again, same-same-but-different. Neither are perfect. Both are more than good enough.
      Whatever algorithm manages the plot afterwards on Coros seems to have less deviation in time... meantime the plot looks smoother and *seems* more accurate; the Garmin is more touchy, sometimes showing jumps here and there but it also seems to correct mistakes faster as a result, whereas if the Coros deviates it can sometimes *completely* misrepresent a route (like going 100+ ft in another direction to link up to the true path later on). There's a section of dense woods near my place that I pass all the time on a 90deg angle.... Once in a while the Garmin shows me darting off into them and back, and once in a greater while the Coros shows me going through them entirely... Neither is true. :)

    Hi
    1) GPS - if you sync Garmin watch with app before run, it should take few secs to lock GPS outside
    2) Battery - COROS use HR measuring every 10 minutes at default setting, that' s why COROS has longer battery life. Garmin use 1s as default.
    3) APP - app mix hike and run results together, not good for me, that was one of the reasons to switch back to Garmin from Apex pro
    5) Improvements - I had the watch for a year and COROS never fixed this issue, even after my repeatedly support requests. No ability to tune backlit.
    After the update took place and they added maps, I sold the watch because the maps are practically unusable.

    Not a Garmin fan here but: connecting to satellites... what does this even mean. You know that certain companies show you "GPS connected" status when the connection reaches a certain standard. Meaning Coros can show you GPS connection just after reaching 1 satellite, while Garmin can show only after you've reached minimum 5 satellites. In that case props to Garmin for making sure you have a solid connection. Another thing is that this can be caused by tons of different things. One of those can be app battery-saving mode. When your phones OS has battery saving mode on your app active, this may shut down the app in the background = app may not update the position of the satellite to your watch = when you go out, the watch is looking blindly for satellites instead of knowing when they are and looking only in a particular place.

I am a runner, swimmer and cyclist and here I see the only negative point on the Pace2 because it doesn‘t cover all kind of sports perfect…it is more for only runner and swimmer. By the way swimming open and with lanes counting works perfect.

    just bought coros pace 3 and GPS all systems seems to be less accurate then my iPhone. Also, it locked in place but later showed a different place of start. When I googled it Coros website said it's best to wait 1 minute for the gps to settle!
    Heart rate is completely innacurate, as I have H10 strap and can track it accurately, and I am talking about resting heart rate as for the workout I've used H10. Further to that the screen brightness is awful, I can hardly read the watch face in my room light. I'm considering returning it as the only reason I've bought it for is GPS accuracy.

    It's a pity that you can't use the garmin ant running pod for speed measurement on the Coros watches. I prefer the footpod highly above GPS. But having said that, I like the Coros Pace 2 very much. With the Coros pod and the app it gives you a lot of understandable information. I just want solid basic function + navigation on my watches, I don't need/want music, bluetooth, workouts, etc maybe I'd use HRV if a watch had good enough battery life but I keep my sensor turned off to save battery so it's not dead when I want to go for a run.

Actually it is same in Coros and Garmin. So gps percision is non issue. Battery life - much better in new series.
      It is not ok to compare old generation Garmin with new Coros. Compare current generation and results are same as with Coros.

    Interesting, I didn't know Coros was of such high quality. Ah, I saw the Apex on sale for just a couple of hundred $, and opted out. But isn't the Apex much thicker and bulkier than Garmin? It ought to have a fatter battery, but my wrists are smaller size, I don't like extra bulk. I never owned either though, this is very interesting. I wonder what you think of the new 965? I've just watched a couple of hours on its software, and it blew my mind. I love the full GPS navigation built-in the 965, just like using a stand-alone GPS device. • @piotrpawelec9004
    @piotrpawelec9004 Рік тому +4

    Well, I don't have any experience with Coros, but I use different Garmin devices for several years and I must say that in my case it looks different: right now I use Fenix 7s sapphire solar and it gets gps signal in a matter of just a few seconds. My previous watch, forerunner 745 was a bit slower, with half a minute start, sometimes a minute (when in new location). The problem you talk about in the video I had only in my vivosport. Here, in fact, sometimes it takes five minutes to get a fix. But this isn't even a watch. As to the battery life. Once more - I can't compare with Coros, but FR745 takes five days of normal usage (daily runs, walks, other activities with no gps - like yoga or swimming) and with constant connection with watch (notifications on). When it comes to Fenix - well, 10 days is achievable with same pattern of usage. It is a pity you don't say what watch exactly do you compare with Coros (or have I missed it?). And if it is a new watch or an old one. It's obvious that battery degenerates after some time and a new watch will always have a potentially better chance of good battery time over an old watch (no matter the producer). What you talk about in the video is your feeling and emotions. And that's perfectly fine. But it is not an objective comparison (I know - you don't say it is).

    • @nachot6592
      @nachot6592 Рік тому

      The Coros watch that competes with the forerunner 955 solar is not only made of plastic, titanium and sapphire, but the battery life is 30 days in smartwatch mode; the one that competes with the Fenix 7X, the vertix 2, has a battery life of 60 friggin days in smartwatch mode. No solar needed. In battery life, no watch from Garmin can match any coros in the same bracket for battery life (except for the instinct 2x (with 3 daily hours of high solar light exposure) but that one doesn't even have a color screen nor maps). Coros does indeed sync in an instant to the app.

    Was using a Coros for most of the past year, Pace 2 then Pace 3.... I gave up. Lots of update cycles, most of which don't fix core known issues with metrics. HRM isn't great on the wrist for any watch but honestly the Pace 2 and 3 have been the most unreliable of any I've used. I wanted to love this thing but (lots of other nitpicks I won't get into) but I'm actually returning it to REI this week. Love the battery and simplicity of the ecosystem and the weight is unbeatable but I'm done. I've wanted to crush it under my heel too many times.

    J'ai eu une Garmin 245 et 945. Une connexion GPS lamentable et des bugs fréquents lors du transfert des données sur smartphone. Du coup, j'ai une Coros Apex pro, c'est le jour et la nuit. Je ne tente même pas d'essayer de reprendre mes Garmin pour voir si cela s'est amélioré, car je sens que je vais m'énerver S'il faut mettre plus de 800€ chez Garmin pour être pleinement satisfait, non, pas pour moi

    Sorry, but there are so funny reasons. I really dont know what people are doing with their watch, I had garmin 235, 735 and now I have 245 and I never dont have to wait for GPS signal more than 10 seconds. Maybe when I came to other country it was a little bit more, but only for first tracking.
    Of course, I think that coros have some good models, pace 2 and apex pro offers very good value for money.
    And I observed that there is so much coros watches used to sale on the web, especially models vertix and vertix 2, flagships from coros! I think it will not be a coincidence.

      @@aruhernalanto I own three Garmin watches and I happen to watch a ton of running gear reviews. Let's start with the false statements in this video. Coros maps better than Garmin - this guy doesn't know what he's talking about. Coros maps aren't even routable. Garmin maps have a lot more detail once you zoom in and you get POI names. You can even upload other maps. The latest Garmins even have a weather overlay on the map. About Coros' app - he's only covering the web side of things. Speaking of the phone app, I can customize my watch face, activity data fields, watch settings and many more all from the mobile app on my phone instead of fiddling with the watch menus. The connectivity issues he's talking about are total BS - my watch always syncs and, pay attention here - it syncs with Stryd, Strava and TrainingPeaks all at once! Should I also mention that Coros doesn't support ANT+ connectivity?
      The only true statement is the battery life. Coros do churn out feature updates more often, which is commendable but let's not forget they start out with far less features in the first place! That also explains the longer battery life - the watch is simply doing less things. As an example - most of the activities apart from running and road biking on Coros are simple calorie trackers and not much else. You don't get advanced metrics like on Garmin. I understand not everyone is interested in how they are progressing on golf swings but that should give you an idea of how much more effort and resources Garmin are pouring into their products. Lastly, the guy admits he's not tech-savvy which explains a lot of his frustrations.
      I am in favour of competition and I would like to see other brands giving Garmin a run for their money, but I just don't like half-assed reviews.
