Keokuk Iowa Lock and Dam 19 which Consists of a 1200 ft by 110 Ft Lock and Can retain a Full Barge with 15 tows within the Lock Chamber the upper miter Gate Drops Down in the water the lower Miter Gates swing in to open and to the Right by the hydro electric Dam that supplies power to operate the Lock and Dam and to the right of that are tainter Gates and Roller Gates but on the other hand all the rest of the Locks and Dams on the Mississippi River Waterway are 600 ft by 110 and the only 2 Locks on the Big River that are 1200 ft by 110 Ft are Keokuk and Alton Illinois
Hi Michael, They claim a range of up to ~6 miles (10 km). Altitude and terrain tend to impact that greatly. Generally a mile or 2 is pretty reliable. Yes better drones will "return to home" automatically if the connection to the controller is lost.

Used to live in the area in the early 70's....the little skinny bridge was the only way to cross the river.

B w. How far can your drone fly away from your controller? Is there a fail safe mechanism to prevent it from flying out of range?

This was from April. The lock was closed most of the day so they tows had to wait until after 6pm to lock through
