- A walking tour in the beautiful tiny little town of 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗮, north of Rome, Italy, in the "Tuscia Viterbese" area.
The virtual walk starts just near the entrance of the small town, then proceeds in the tiny streets and along its panoramas and cozy houses, ending in the main Square with people.

Today Calcata is known for its artistic flais. It has a thriving artistic community described in The New York Times as what "may be the grooviest village in Italy, home to a wacky community of about 100 artists, bohemians, aging hippies and New Age types."

Glad you enjoyed it Kurtney, one of my earliest videos this.. Still has lot to learn how to film , but calcata was truly stunning
They do, they're actually very culturally active! There are a lot of events, where the village completely transforms (i.e. in Christmas, it becomes almost a Presepe Vivente). I don't know how, but they even managed to make a recording studio there, I think it's a private one though.
During these Corona times, watching this is almost as good as being there in person, as long as we can't travel. Thanks a lot!

Very beautiful town, but the owners of the houses can put restaurants, art galleries, book stores, or any kind of commerce to maintain the villa.

The tower visible over the valley ,6.38, is the abandoned town of Marie. If you're feeling active there's a lovely walk down out of Calcata across the river and up to it .(30 minutes) This gives you a great view from the other side of Calcata

When I went there I was completely unprepared, I went to Calcata like 10 times already and always wondered what the hell was that tower in the distance! When I finally made up my mind to go check it out the last thing I was expecting was a 30 mins walk in the middle of a forest xD

Yes, you are so right Veronica, quite a tiny town and I guess everyone knows each other) Calcata is one of those tiny gems…. good memories of that day there… beautiful place for sure. I am thinking to get back to it actually , maybe a dusk walk… not so distant from. me!

While living in a little village like this is probably very inconvenient it is also living in a historical place, with much beauty of ancient things all around you !

Kinda late for the reply, but just so you have the info, those chairs were there even before the town was built. It was conquered very early in roman times, and those chairs were the only things the romans didn't destroy before rebuilding it.

Es difícil decir Leticia, pero sospecho que de la edad media, podría ser del siglo 14 al 15 la reconstrucción más reciente. Pero construido sobre casas mucho más antiguas, desde antes del imperio romano incluso

Great town Olson... one of my earliest videos this one in Calcata, when I watch it I sometimes wonder how MUCH I needed to improve back then (stabilization for the most part).
