Hello! I just discovered you after I bought cotton yarn at DT to make a summer hat. I had been looking to see how the yarn worked out for others, found your vídeo and was so impressed, I subscribed to your channel. I'm not very experienced and I don't have a lot of time for crafts as I work full time but I will be checking out your other videos and gleaning from your expertise! Thank you!
Love it when the center pull comes out in a mass of yarn guts. Said crocheted ever. 🤣. Thanks for the thorough review. I’ve seen this at the DT and wondered about it.
Thanks for the great videos. I actually got a skein today $1.25 now. But it made a perfect headband/earwarmer!! I think it had 95 yds!! Best yarn I have used yet.
I love this yarn. But then cotton was my favorite from the beginning. I make blankets and washcloths from this yarn mostly. It seems a bit thinner than the peaches and creme yarn found at Walmart but I love that dollar tree price.
I have used 100% cotton to make dishcloths (crochet and knit) and have made soap sacks on my 22 pin Addi. The trick is to go so slowly, and they were easier with softer cotton yarns. Thanks for the review!
@@jaymielee1110 sure thing! I made some with Sugar/Peaches & Cream and some with I Love this Cotton which is softer but thinner. I did no waste yarn to begin, cranked SLOWLY for 25 rows then 5-6 rows of waste yarn. I took the tube off and stretched it then cinched the one end. The cast on edge was the top and I crocheted a drawstring to weave in. Since then I saw a post where they did 20 rows and used the tail to close the top and add a loop. I think that would go even faster. Hope that makes sense and reach out with any questions. :)
I bought some just cotton today at Dollar Tree and tried it in 22 Sentro. I tried all 3 holes in yarn guide and had tucked stitches. Just holding the yarn in my fingers worked. I made a washcloth. I have mixed 4 ply yarn with peaches and cream cotton yarn on my knifty knitter loom to make a market bag.
My Dollar Tree has the cotton. I buy the peaches and cream and make washcloths and dish rags/hand wiping rags on my 24 peg loom, I can’t crochet. I’m going to get some of that and try it on my little Sentro.
Hi Serfronya, Great review. I have tried the just cotton and also find it comprable to peaches & Creme yarn. I have used it for dish/wash cloths mostly. It is econonical and I like the colors. I do not think that I would purchase a cast though, as I don’t need so many units of 1 color. Thanks for sharing.
I just bought several in the same color. I haven't made anything yet...but I'm looking forward too ! Love how your washcloth turned out ! Such a pretty color 😍
Kaitlyn, I don't think that I have ever knitted or crocheted anything that would be considered summer cloths. Years back I did sew dresses and skirts for my daughter. What cotton yarn do you use for clothing? I imagine that it must be soft.
@@YarnChecker I've never made clothing before so I'm not really sure. I have found some brands to be pretty soft but those are few and far between. The reputation for cotton to be stiff is well deserved.
As a flatbed machine knitter I would use a better quality of cotton/cotton blend yarn to make clothing items (i.e. Knit Picks, Lion Brand, etc). With the Dollar Tree cotton yarn dishclothes, small stuffed toys, dust clothes, crafting items would be OK.
Dollartree in toronto, needs to step up its game. It only had cheap novelty ugly yarn. I went twice but us stores seem to have the good stuff. Ill stick to walmart. Thanks!!!
That was such a very good review. Love that you actually made some thing and washed it.

You're brilliant!

Thank you for the awesome review! Saphronia (hope I am using the right spelling of your name). BTW your manicure is absolutely gorgeous.

Plz review Plush & Eyelash yarns and what I can use them for...
Very nice
I really like the DT cotton yarn for my kitchen, bath items, ie, pot holders, dish/wash cloths, edgings for cup towels. I really like it.

I haven't tried the cotton yet. Might be worth a look. Love your nails!
Thanks mary H!

I’m going to get some of that and try it on my little Sentro.
Ooh Maryann, tell me how it goes. I haven't had the best of luck using rougher yarns on my Sentro so I haven't tried with the cotton.

Where can I find your blog?
If you only use cotton for dishcloths and the like what do you use for summer clothes?

I agree.
I make tote bags with cotton yarn

I love getting yarn from Walmart. Thanks for watching Jaymie!
