11 days is a great length. I love cruising. Day 2 blue top is great for you. Your St. Lucia top is really cute. Vera Bradley bags are real workhorses. The only jewelry I bring with me on vacation is 3 pair of earrings. Less to pack. Less to worry about. I like to keep it simple. PLUS.. leave me room for my purchases cuz I always buy jewelry as a souvenier. No coffee mugs, magnets or key chains for me!!

That's a good length of time for a cruise. Long enough that you can really relax & get into it but not so long that you get tired of it. But, oh dear, it can really be rough on a diet. 😓
Ha, I agree with you about how amazing the food can be/tough to stay on track, but on the one and only cruise I've ever been on I was so seasick that I lost 5 lbs over the 10 days. It was the first sailing after hurricane season - probably why it was bargain priced! The food *looked* amazing but I spent all the sea days lying on my bed re-evaluating the value of bargain-priced cruises so I really only ate every other day lol.
Hope you were able to relax and enjoy your trip. Loved the dresses. Just my style for comfy yet dressy options. I am a “sewing” person and you cannot buy fabric, a pattern, and any sewing notions required for what you can purchase on amazon. And if it’s not up to par, can just return it.. take care and enjoy your tan. You looked great. You always mention your hair and to the rest of us, it looks good!

Talbots and Athleta are the two brands that fit my 5'1" oversized body the best. I need to buy capri leggings from Athleta to get the right length but at least they have nice plus sized clothes and they NEVER wear out. Because I live in Florida, I appreciate the bright colors from Athleta.

I’m 5ft3in, what ever I wear, my knees have to be covered. As for dressing up for dinner while on vacation is a must for me. I to, have a Dior lipstick I’ve had for sometime, I only wear it on special occasions.
Loved your cruise Cathy, thanks for taking me witb you. Had to smile when you said you hoped you didn't see a shark on your swim. I swim on the great barrier reef in Australia and did see a shark once. I turned around and swam the fastest I've ever swum but whe I reached the boat, tbe skipper told me it was just a reef shark and wouldn't hurt me. I can still see those eyes haha but I have been swimming there again. It's fabulous. Thanks for sharing your holiday😘🦘

We are going on this exact cruise in about 2 months.... I love seeing all your cute outfits - gives me lots of ideas! I'm just a little worried when you said there were lots "of issues".... normally we have a good trip with Holland America - hope it was nothing too serious! Yikes!
Thank you! I've sailed with Holland America 9 times, going to Alaska with them in the summer. The issues weren't horrible, but more disorganization and things have slipped, like some of the things we have come to expect from HA. The onboard staff were still lovely and the Rotterdam is beautiful. I'm certain by the time that your cruise comes along things will have been sorted out.
I really enjoy your videos and you seem you're having a wonderful time. ❤ If I may, I'd just like to add my own experience with clothing. I'm 5ft 4" , 66 years old and yes, slightly overweight but I always have a rather noticeable belly, due to chronic IBS (c). I have found my best style is A-line, maxi length dresses. They don't put pressure on my stomach, they don't cut my appearance into two halves and give the illusion I'm taller than I actually am. I have many in different styles and colours (always with a slight cap or short sleeves (long in winter). Also, I wear full length leggings and long t-shirts or tunic tops. I find if I wear a shorter top it accentuates my apple shape. May I add, I loved your advice about wrap dresses being very flattering, so much so, I just added one to my wardrobe (maxi length 😂). You are an inspirational lady and so refreshing to watch videos aimed at we, I won't say older, lol, but more worldly-wise, ladies. You have a new follower from Wales 🏴 in the UK. Very helpful! I love the gray stripe dress and the Chico black dress. All of the dresses look great. I put off buying for my Carribean cruise in December because I've been slowly losing weight. But I didn't think about the difficulty in finding hot weather clothes in October/November. It's still in the 80s where I live in Tennessee but the stores have already completely cleared out their summer stuff. Turning to Amazon and online shopping.

Yesterday, I went ahead and booked a 12-day cruise in the Canary islands in June 2024 with RC. I was supposed to do that cruise in 2020 but it was cancelled due to the pandemic. I got a junior suite with large balcony for the same price I paid for a regular balcony cabin last May! I showed my husband and he's really looking forward to it. The drawback might be that we'll be spoiled with that type of cabin and not want anything else after.

All nice outfits for your cruise Cathy. My favorite was the black Talbots dress and the blue and white Amazon one is a close second. I don't bring much jewelry when I cruise either, I'm afraid I'll lose something and be heartbroken, however, I will shop for jewelry when on a cruise, lol. Hope you're feeling better. I've had something too going on 3 weeks. It's pretty much gone but fatigue and a cough seem to like to linger on. Ugh. I was negative for covid and the best guess is the flu. Anyhow, I enjoyed this video.
Thank you so much! I thought that I was getting better, but since arriving home late Sunday I am going backwards. So congested and coughing that won't quit. I've tested twice and it's not Covid, but my doctor said that the cough could linger for 8-12 weeks, there's lots of respiratory viruses out there. UGH!!

Funky Not Frumpy all rooms on cruises lines are not small, you’re might won’t feel comfortable in an interior room. A balcony cabin would be best for you. How would you know if you’re never been on a cruise.
The rooms are quite nice and not that small, depends on the room type. I would suggest a balcony cabin if you were thinking of trying a cruise.

I wish I could be more comfortable with traveling, my husband is an airline pilot.
I thought I would be thrilled to travel but I get sick from anxiety and motion sickness so I am sad I can not be brave like the other wives of airline pilots. Also my husband does like to travel for pleasure, he just likes to fly the aircraft, no interest in vacationing for pleasure. We have a group of pilot friends and wives who like to get together for a yearly trip, last time it was Maine and we live in Connecticut so we could drive! So much fun!I love these friends! I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this video! I’m struggling to find flattering summer clothing. I just moved to an area of California that gets really hot in the summer but is perfect from October thru June. I love the clothes you bought for your cruise. You look great in them and I know they will work for me as well. Especially happy to know about the 2 brands of sandals you found to be comfortable and look nice! I found a brand of skort you might want to try …. Baleaf. Well made, fit nice, not pricey.
