Oh hurray!! 🙌 I am so pleased to hear that!! If you ever feel like showing me your finished work, I’d LOVE to see it! (You can share it on my facebook page.😉)
Thank you for this great tutorial! Just purchased this sketch as it’s very affordable and glad to contribute something to your great art. This looks like a perfect simple one to get started. It would be great if we had a small part 2 on doing the background though. I’d also love to know how you deal with the sketch lines from the pencil. I find it really hard to make them not visible.
I’m so glad you liked this tutorial! I hope you enjoy giving it a try. (And thank you for your support in purchasing an outline! 🥰) As far as pencil lines go, that will probably always be a bit of a problem when it comes to watercolors. 🙄 But sometimes what I like to do, is after drawing the outline on my watercolor paper very lightly, I’ll also take a kneaded or moldable eraser and dab that on the lines. This takes off any loose graphite and actually makes the lines even lighter than what you drew originally. (I show sort of an example of this in this tutorial if you’d like to check it out. ua-cam.com/video/MCLuac0Tg9E/v-deo.htmlsi=SZwWLc79OKH1e9JA Then when I’m done painting and everything is completely dry, sometimes I can go back in and erase the lines a little bit more. But sometimes even with my best efforts pencil lines are still visible. I hope this helps though! Thanks for watching!

This is so pretty. My sister and I are doing it together. We've had some problems with cauliflowers when we use the clear water following the pink even though we blot our brushes on paper towels first. We are uses Arches. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!
What a fun sister activity to do together! I’m not sure if this advice will help or not because I can’t see exactly what’s going on with your painting, but usually when you get that cauliflower effect it’s because the paint is drying at different rates. For example, if you paint the pink on first it will begin to dry a little bit, then when you add the wet water next to it, the water starts to spread into the pink paint, but will eventually be stopped because the pink is getting too dry (creating the cauliflower look). When I add my water to spread and lighten the paint, I also repaint or re-wet the pink paint with the water so the entire area is wet, then everything is wet and will all dry at about the same rate. Something else you can try is the wet on wet technique and paint clean water on the entire petal (BEFORE any paint is applied) THEN add the pink paint and spread it around with a damp brush. This way again, everything will be wet in an even amount. Hope this helps! 🤞 Good luck and happy painting! 😊

Of course you can! If it were me, I think I’d stick to the color scheme already going on and do a light pink, or maybe even a light yellow or green? I would definitely keep the background lighter in value than the flowers though so it doesn’t over power them. I wish you the best of luck with your painting!
