Great advice. I was going to just have some friends help me open it and mostly do it myself - as you mentioned not to do. After seeing this video I made job postings on job boards and I am overwhelmed and OVERJOYED at the amount of successful people who want to volunteer their time towards my organization. I really think this will help my non profit go a lot further than if I hadn't done this. Now, to interviewing and onboarding...
Thank you, I found your video extremely helpful and encouraging, I'm in the process of starting a non profit organization, I found your tips and tools for beginners very helpful.
Hello Tiffany, I definitely was struggling with finding dependable, reliable passionate board members, after watching your video you made it a lot easier for me to contact the tips given! Thank you so much you are the best!😊 I’m basically a woman show but I’m not giving up I love helping people especially in my community. I do have my determination letter but my mission has changed, I was gonna do reentry, but would rather just give clothing, shoes , food and small household items to woman and men. Do I need to change my mission statement?
Hi! Thank you for this video, but what do I do if I'm looking for board directors when I'm not yet incorporated? You say in the first part of your video that you shouldn't ask people related to you to do the paperwork as a director and let me do all the work, but later on, you say, "show them the paperwork" to get board directors on board. I'm a bit confused on what to do, and how to show professionalism as a organization that hasn't incorporated, done anything yet, or found any board members. Please help!!!
Hi! You start with what you have. Have a one pager that states the mission and what you hope to accomplish. Ask if they're interested in joining your organization to help launch. This is an ongoing process that will take time. So if you have to put family on the paperwork, then it's understandable.
That depends on the state requirements and/or your bylaws. The IRS like to see at least 3 members and you do need officers but again that depends on what your bylaws say and what's required by the state.

How many people do you have to have on your board to get started?
President , vice president and treasurer ?
That depends on the state requirements and/or your bylaws. The IRS like to see at least 3 members and you do need officers but again that depends on what your bylaws say and what's required by the state.

Hello Where is the tool box?
Hi, it’s here: rebrand.ly/boardtoolbox
Are board members volunteers or paid? ❤
I thought you can’t use family as board members ?
Family may serve but there are caveats: ua-cam.com/video/Csa45b2Pu68/v-deo.html
