Got to see him do a Forever change concert at Royce Hall on the UCLA campus. He had the string and horn section with him. I feel blessed to have seen him a few years before his untimely death. Maybe around 2005 can’t remember what year, but my Daughter born in 1979 got me tickets and she is a fan also. Discovered him independently of myself who have been loving him and Love since the 60s.
I saw Love many times at Pandora's Box,the Whiskey A Go Go, The Hollywood Palladium, and more. They came out of Laurel Canyon along with the Doors, the Buffalo Springfield, and other great musicians. Love was my favorite. Arthur Lee was one of the greatest songwriters ever. Jimi Hendrix spoke very highly of him. At 72, a few years ago, I met Jonny Echols, his old friend and lead guitarist at a small gathering in Griffith Park, where there used to be huge gatherings for Love-Ins. He freely spoke of Arthur. RIP. These concerts years later have brought me great joy and
I wish I could talk with you, because I have VERY strong feelings for this band and ARTHUR… I was born in 51 but you beat me being born before… maybe 47, 46 or ? But YOU could get in to the CLUBS! I lived in Santa Monica and was TOO YOUNG 😭
@annalisa14 I have very strong feelings for Arthur and Love as well. I was born in 52 so I was to young to get in the club's back then too😔 I didn't live close to the strip or Laural Canyon, I was closer to the beaches in the south bay area. I wish I could've seen him and the band, I'm enjoying watching these vidios of them on UTube, great performances. Their music/lyrics are timeless, so ahead of their time😘✨️🕯🎶🔥👌❤️🔥
@deborahbrown6408 Deborah, so glad to hear from another Arthur Lee and Love fan. He was a very creative song writer, a musical genius. The orchestral arrangements on Forever Changes rivals George Martin's with the Beatles.
Great show, wish i could've seen him. I was 14 in 1966, didn't hang out on Sunset strip. I was still pretty naive, but loved their music!! I really appreciate their music more now, it's timeless, lyrics are still relevant today, always. Especially You Set The Scene. Miss you Arthur, thank's for all your music💞🎶🎶🕯
Special late-career days for Arthur. Quite tear-jerking. Love it that he has to read the words on some songs. Bless him. Saw him with the Four Sail band in London.
How can Arthur Lee NOT be in R & R Hall of fame ??
Because the R&R H of Fame is a hall of shame, it's all about their politics.🤔
Cause people are idiots
We put ARTHUR LEEway up high on our list. He’s THE BEST
Yes I certainly agree
Just another undermined black artist.

Saw Artur Lee play in 2003 at the Byron Bay Blues Fest. One of my greatest rock n roll memories. He was a genius!

This is a gift to me! Love it!

I saw Arthur solo at the Whiskey in 75, it was very sad, nothing like this, just him and guitar, drug problems, legal problems, he felt so abandoned
Who are the other musicians playing with Arthur?
