      1) when you said repalce underperforming ADs with similar performing AD. does that mean if 1 image AD is working well then all other 3 ADs format will change to image ADs.
      2)so later there is "AD format testing phase" and later "AD creative testing phase" ?
      am i understanding it correctly ?

    Hi Ben, great content as always! I was hoping if you could clear up my confusion about running multiple ads at the same time for different audience sets.
    When you’re running multiple ads (for different products) for different audience sets, how does that impact your “Custom Audience”? would your custom audience be diluted?
    So, later on when you create a custom audience with, say, “people who engaged with your posts during last 30 days”, it will include audiences who engaged with all those ads (that were unrelated to each other). How do you avoid it? Hope my question makes sense. Cheers!

    Great video, thanks! I have only 1 question: if you also want to test other variables, like copy and headline, how would you structure that campaign? Because you want to prevent ad-fatique, so you have to keep multiple creatives active. Is dynamic creative a good option to do that? Or keep the 4 ads with each an other creative, and under each ad 2-4 copy's for example with DC? But then you probably end up with to many combinations. I would like to know your opinion Ben!

    Great video as always Ben!
    Question in regards to Facebook's capabilities and knowing what ads to serve to what people.
    - Does Facebook have an actual algorithm that can identify what the ad/image is? So for example, let's say I'm advertising 3 ads to 1 ad set of people interested in Cooking or Food. One ad is a ham sandwich, one ad is a turkey sandwich, and the other ad is a bologna sandwich. Will FB be able to distinguish enough of the ad content to properly distribute it? Or would this have to be addressed at an ad set level to compensate.
    - A relatable follow-up question on that - perhaps you can make a video about the dynamic headlines, descriptions and primary texts and how these work / how to best execute them.
    Thanks!

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  4 роки тому

      Thanks a lot - much appreciated.
      Great question. So Facebook's algorithm won't know that Ad 1 is a turkey ad, Ad 2 is a ham ad, etc. But they may be able to detect that certain people are more likely to engage with Ad 1 and a slightly different group of people are more likely to engage with Ad 2. The most obvious example of this is some people are more likely to respond to image ads and some people are more likely to respond to video ads. Facebook can then deliver your ads in a way that helps improve campaign performance.
      Good idea - I'll add that to the to-do list.

    ben, first of all, great videos mate, keep it up. secondly, im running into an issue that you don't explicate and i can't find an answer too...okay, say you have FOUR add sets in a single campaign, and each of ad sets have the same 4 ads, well when it comes time to refresh the creative (based on what ads performs the best over the course of, let's say a month), do you then change the other 3 ads across all four ad sets? for example, if i have ad1, ad2, ad3, and ad4, what if ad1 performs best in ad set 1 but not in other ad sets? so this is what i'm not sure about...what are your thoughts?

    another good video ben. should you use different dimensions for your starting ads to a cold audience? so make the creative in different sizes such as 1:1 and 4:6 so to optimise for different placements such as stories, newsfeed and audience network? will facebook automatically show the best size to the particular placement automatically if using automatic placements?

    • @BenHeath

      Thanks Steven. You don't have to and we don't find this is a big needle mover as square creative looks good in nearly all placements. But there is certainly no downside in customizing placements and you may see an improvement in results.

    Hi Ben, great content as always. One question: how do you feel about testing one thing at a time? Cause in this case youre testing ad sets and ads at once. So it could happen that ad 1 performs better than ad 2 in ad set 3, but not in ad set 1. But then again ad set 1 performs better than ad set 3. How do you tackle this? Cause i've been told that testing one thing a time is useally better. And do you agree you should spend atleast €4 per ad to be able to have it optimised properly?

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Milo, thanks a lot. Good question. There is always a balancing act when it comes to testing. If you just isolate one thing in the whole campaign then it is likely to take a lot longer before you work out what works best (clients don't often have enough patience for that). But if you test too much then your tests won't produce reliable data.
      I like to test one thing per level. So we'll test different targeting options at the ad set level and different ads at the ad level at the same time. I know what you are saying but I'm not too concerned about those discrepancies.

  • @JinnyLiang

    Hi Ben! I love your videos. I'm learning alot from them.
    I am wondering, after pausing poor performing ads, and adding new ads to the ad set to test against the winner. Wouldn't the budget automatically prioritize the existing winning ad which has built up alot of social proof, while the new ads you are testing will already start off at a disadvantage? Or is this nothing to worry about, and FB algorithm knows to redirect enough budget to test the new ads fairly?

    • @iamcoreymcclain
      @iamcoreymcclain 2 роки тому +1

      Good question.

    • @ManiSadasivam-oz4eg
      @ManiSadasivam-oz4eg 3 місяці тому

      When you pause poor performing ads and add new ads to the ad set, Facebook's algorithm will indeed take into account the performance history of the existing winning ad. However, Facebook's ad delivery system is designed to optimize for the best performance overall, which includes giving new ads a chance to compete fairly.
      Here are a few points to consider:
      Learning Period: When you add new ads to an ad set, Facebook's algorithm may enter a learning phase where it gathers data to understand how the new ads perform compared to the existing ones. During this learning phase, the algorithm may initially favor the ads with a stronger performance history. However, as it gathers more data, it will adjust and allocate budget based on the performance of each ad.
      Budget Distribution: Facebook's algorithm dynamically adjusts the budget allocation based on the performance of each ad in real-time. If a new ad starts showing promising results, the algorithm will allocate more budget to it to help it gain traction.
      Ad Rank and Relevance: Facebook considers factors such as ad relevance, engagement, and other performance metrics to determine the ad rank in the auction. Even if a new ad starts at a disadvantage, if it proves to be more relevant and engaging to your target audience, it can still compete effectively against the existing ads.
      Manual Intervention: If you want to ensure that new ads receive enough exposure to be properly tested, you can manually adjust the budget allocation within the ad set. You can allocate a higher proportion of the budget to the new ads initially to give them a fair chance to compete.
      Overall, while the social proof and performance history of existing ads may influence the initial budget allocation, Facebook's algorithm is designed to optimize for overall performance and give new ads a fair opportunity to compete. Keep monitoring the performance of your ads and be prepared to adjust budgets and strategies as needed based on the results.

    Good video, but from experience I've had different outcomes. I think the number of ads depends on the budget allocated for the campaign CBO Ben. If I have 10 ads in one ad set, FB will optimise the ads that deliver the best results more efficiently and quicker if I increase the budget to give FB more data to optimise through spend those increased variables. So the number of ads and their performance is all relative to budget, and if manual bidding is selected, then higher budgets and high bids?

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Colin, thanks for sharing - it's always good to hear from other people's experience.
      I do think you are right in that a larger budget is more suitable to a larger number of ads. But for the vast majority of campaigns we create we will use this structure. We've had campaigns spending £2k per month and campaigns spending £100k per month perform well with this structure.
      With larger budgets we tend to refresh ad creative more often, as opposed to having more ads running at any one time.

    Hi Ben! learning much from you and was wondering if you could link me a video from you where you explain how long should i run the testing phase (or just comment below)
    I have found that 5000 impressions per ad can provide a good overview and comparison.
    If e.g. one ad with 5k impressions has 10 conversions and the other with 3k impressions already has 6 conversions, I would now switch off the one with 5k impressions.
    Do I see that correctly that it is pointless to hope that the ad with 5k impressions might get better if it rises to 10k impressions because this way it could learn better.
    From when (how many impressions) would you complete this learning phase.
    I just noticed that some things can change up to 5k, but I wonder if it still makes sense after the 5k because the ad should actually have learned enough to be compared with others.

      One regular and one back up - no more than that. At the end of the day you need to play by the rules.

    Ok you say same ads in the different adsets. but what if ad 1 works well in adset 1 and ad 1 doesn't work at all in adset 2? if I stop ad 1 in adset 2 I can't compare the assets anymore, can I?

    • @BenHeath

      Hi Paul, nothing is perfect and in that scenario I would pause different ads in different ad sets. BUT only after I had established which targeting options produce the best results.

    Hi Ben 😁
    What would I do in this scenario, after 7 days:
    Ad 1 in ad-set 1 is performing best
    Ad 1 in ad-set 2 is performing best
    Ad 3 in ad-set 3 is performing best
    Ad 3 in ad-set 4 is performing best
    Do I simply move forward with ad 1 (and make new similar variations) for ad-set 1 and 2 and make new similar variations of ad 3 for ad-set 3 and 4?
    In the case that Ad 1 is performing best in all ad-sets, I just move forward with ad 1 but how do I proceed in this situation?
    Thank you Ben!

      Good question. I'd optimise ads for each ad set. If that means you have different ones live in each - that's fine.
      Yes you want to test, but you also want to generate the best results possible.

    how long do you run that ads for to determine which ad set is doing the best?

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  2 роки тому

      Completely depends on how much you are spending and how many conversions you generate. Sometimes you could be looking at hours, other times weeks.

    Hi Ben, brilliant video once again. I'm just wondering: Should I have testimonial/case study ad creatives in the Warm Audience Ad-Set? Or should I do what you recommended in this video and just leave the ad creatives exactly the same as in the other ad sets? Not sure what would be most effective. Thanks so much!

    Hi Ben, I'm launching an e-commerce brand later this month. If I have no website visitors or sales and run a CBO campaign with 3-5 cold audiences. Should I create another CBO campaign a few days later with warm audiences and LLA audiences?
    Looking forward to your reply.

      Thanks Manuel, I would usually use one campaign per offer. So it really depends how many different offers you want to advertise.

    • @BenHeath

      That depends on your set up - are you using Omnipresence Content? In which case you want an ad set for each ad.

    By adding or removing new ads, will this reset the learning phase?

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  4 роки тому +1

      It can send your ad sets back into the learning phase but the new learning phase will likely be shorter and I wouldn't let it stop you creating new ads :)

    What happens when you have a really good audience and 4 good ads and you want to test more on that audience. Do you have to duplicate the audience and then put new creative in it. How do you go among this if your top audiences are in a CBO?

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  3 роки тому +1

      I would duplicate that ad set and run that in the same CBO alongside your high-performing ad set. Then you can see how it performs :)
