The Beginning sounds so fucking depressing. It's like you are in the saddest day of your life so you play a different version of Sonic and Knuckles that adapts to your subconscious mind and it realizes you are sad so it plays this abandoned version of Flying Battery Zone and it tries to make you happy because of this vaporwave stuff
i’d like to interpret this as something like a s3&k bad ending where you fail to gather all emeralds and eggman’s boss at act 2 got upgraded into something only super sonic could take on when eggman succeeds sonic plummets from the flying battery and lays on the grass in angel island, surrounded by charred grass and toxic fumes over the horizon you can see the outline of the flying battery going down into the ground, and soon after the death egg launching into space
I can imagine this playing at Scrapnik Island with the Flying Battery now being a coral reef or partially submerged Everyone says this sounds like a bad future, but imagine this plot twist: With what Eggman intended this for originally? It's a good future.
