Yeah! It turns out the sound chip in the Sega Genesis is essentially a Yamaha DX7 synth, which is what FM8 is modeled after, so they're totally compatible with each other. Google around for Sega Genesis DX7 patches, there's a lot of cool stuff out there.

You can not imagine what these melodies mean to my whole musical progress from my childhood until today. Every oldschool video game, back then when I still did not play any instrument at all, just hummed the melodies while I was playing the game. As the chorus kicked in I was like: oh my goodness there are too much epicness and kind memories that have been resurrected from my childhood in an awesome modernised way and in METAL. It has so much power in it, that main melody was for me always the power, that gave me a huge positive impulse, but I never knew how, it just happened. Thank you for this wonderful cover. I really enjoyed and appreciate it! It is just incredible and I am having massive goosebumps ... (your other covers are awesome too, I could drown in these songs...)

For example, the bit at 0:17-0:27 where I guess you're maybe using a volume pedal (or tremolo pedal?) with the the sustained notes is just... 😚👌
