Being someone of a certain age with my wild days behinde me I simply love the Algarve between October to March and before the Brexit the plan was to retire and spend October to March exploring Lisbon and the Algarve. And thats what I love about your channel. Best of both worlds, bit of off grid life style with a bit of the Algarve easy going beach strolling, exploring, eating and drinking out. Keep it up as you've got me hooked to your channel.
What's the whether like on the end of December, Xmas time? Will teperatures reach over 20 deegres during the day? Thanks and anjoy your life there in beautiful Portuguese scenery 🙂
@tomaszp1910 last Dec 26th my son was sat out in just his shorts ….i just looked back in my photos….it can be changeable one Xmas it rained for 7 days constant….it can be beautiful during the day with temperatures in there teens or 20 degrees plus but as soon as the sun goes down it’s chilly you need to wrap up warm . 🌞🥶
Hi Angela and Aidan Just found your vlog and really enjoying it. It’s useful to hear about your experiences . We are hoping to buy something and eventually retire early from UK. I was wondering how you earn money ( apart from the profit from your house sale) . Thanks , Claire
Good question … when we moved here our house was really run down, it’s on our first 2 videos and because it didn’t have a garden it was never going to be our forever home but it was all we could afford £34,000 😹 we spent £40,000 doing the renovation! Plus we were still in the EU at that point so the first year even though we didn’t have a roof on our house we managed to make some crafts for a 6 week Christmas market back in the uk. Everything was shipping out on 2 pallets. Now we can’t do that because of the import duty. So we didn’t really have much choice of what to do so we put the house up for sale and sold it. We are now buying another property but most of the profit will go back on the new house. The new property we will be moving into in 3 weeks it’s the same size as this house plus a ruin half the size plus 2 acres of land. We are hoping to grow enough food to be self sustainable also to go off grid. Maybe even to sell or trade some food in time. So a long answer that doesn’t really cover your question 😹 sometimes you just have to take the chance. I’m glad we got out of the uk when we did January 2019 because if we left it later personally we wouldn’t have been able to make the move financially. Hope it helps 💫 follow your dream x
@@livinginthealgarveportugal3357 hi again , Angela Thankyou for your reply. If you can recommend any websites to help our search etc please let us know in your vlogs. We are also thinking about a small holiday home or sited caravan to use now but like you two, we want to stay south Algarve rather than central. Thankyou again! Claire
The thing about the Algarve is that the microclimate is very noticeable the further you move from the coast. It can be raining or cloudy in Alte or Silves but sunny down by the sea just a few miles away. Likewise it tends to be much cooler in the Autumn and Winter especially at night the further you are from the coast.
@@livinginthealgarveportugal3357 We have a holiday villa in Pêra. So that’s not too far. If your ever near pêra the house is bright pink so can spot it a mile off! It’s a great part of the algarve. Do you enjoy living full time their as that’s what we plan do do in the future?
Love from China ,I will go to Algarve university for study in september 2024,Hope to see you in Algarve,Is it easy for international students to get job in Algarve?
