    The science of memory is well understood, it's not well known. In this short video, I tell about two of the most useful memory and learning techniques research has uncovered.
    Here's a free paper about learning. It will transform how you do it!

    Wasn't recall mentioned in many of the books you've mentioned in the past like "Make it stick"? So this is not something new.. you're just recalling it?

      Part of science is to do the same thing over and over in regular intervals to see if the results change.

    Would you want to remember everything? Feel like remembering what's important to you is the best way.

    • @drwho7165
      @drwho7165 6 днів тому

      You're probably right, although on the other hand, if you can remember everything you should definitely be capable of remembering the important things at that point

      @@drwho7165 that would be ideal. I graduated med school about 7 years ago, I remember very little about the pathology of tongue and inner mouth malignancies (surgical kidney transplant fellowship). Perhaps for the best. haha.
      Just there is so much to remember, forgetting is a blessing sometimes if you can easily look it up.

      if you know what you know and don't know, and have an intuitive understanding that is more helpful in a world with internet. Rather than random factoids with little true knowledge.

    the brain needs to be warmed up. Trick is to reread the first thing, page, chapter you read, and keep doing it. This will warm up the brain 🧠 for the topic concerned and following chapters will be remembered more easily.

    I really had a good laugh with this video. A lesson for myself is to tread cautiously into the learning to learn domain as it can become a blackhole similar to feeling productive by reading productivity books. Don't fail to learn or fail to work productively.

      I think it's when we get lost in optimizing, instead of just doing, because we still get the same dopamine hit of being "productive"?

    I got an ad before this video about a nasa neuroscientist created a song that has theta wave which stimulates your hippocampus unlocking your full brain potential for learning and memory. 😂 didn’t need to watch this just listen to some theta waves. 😝

      Have you tried Anki? It's a note card system that spaces out the repetition depending on your memory, so things you know get spaced out, and things you don't are repeated more often.
