- Had to replace because of a ripped boot, a very straight forward process that's not to difficult. in the video I had a helper press on the brakes for the removal and installation of the axle nut but you can remove this and tighten when the car is on the ground.

Excellent Video! Your Son made ot special! My son, who is now 10, loved when I worked on my cars! He wants BMWs now because of it!
I'm doing this this weekend. This video helped a lot! Hope the axle or the knuckle are not going going to be seized
OMG! I never had one come out or go in as easily as it did for you!
I also got a non oem one, a carquest one and it did not have the grooves on the inner, so I could not get it in properly with a prybar like the oem one, watching this and hoping the method you used works for me
I think the torque is quite high, like 157lbs, On the x5 its 310lbs!
Torque spec for the axle nut is 310 ftlbs.
It’s 214 ft lbs, you’re setting someone up 🤣
Great video. What brand did you use for the axles?
Import direct from Orileys, i have them on both sides for the front no problems whatsoever.
@@adamanderson8631 thanks for responding!
I can't get mine to come out is there a ring lock holding it in I done beat the hell out of it got the driver side but can not get the dam Passenger side to come out at all
I just had this same problem on the drivers side. I had to get a slide hammer with a cv removal tool and that did the trick for me. Keep at it you will get it.
Trying this, the hub is straight up seized to the strut. I've come down to damn near jumping on the rotor they won't separate for shit
Referring to what you did 6:35- 6:44. Took you 10 seconds I'm on fucking day 3 lmao
That blows, in my defense this has been apart before and i don't live in a rust belt. Try some lube and some heat not too much so you don't cook your strut.
