Olivia Rodrigo is indeed half Filipino but the term Filipino-American does not mean half and half. It means that the person being described is of Filipino ethnicity and American nationality (Filipino blooded, but a citizen of America).
So me, I’m fully Filipino but I would be described as Filipino-American because I reside in America. Might I add that being American *ethnically* would imply that one has Native American roots. Otherwise, there’s no such thing as being “part American”.

My TRAUMA
My father has Filipino descent, but he's not famous, nor am I. His name is Adelin (it's pronounced "Ah-deh-leen") and It's a Bulgarian male name, not to be confused with "Adeline", the French female name.
Adelin can be name for both sexes here Philippines, while Adelino is not he masculine form.

Apl literally was a judge on The Voice PH. Jo Koy makes a butt ton of Filipino jokes, he's a comedian. And one of the women is the grandchild of a famous Filipina singer. As for Enrique Iglesias, his dad was a famous singer and his second wife (Enrique's mom) is Filipina, tho Idk about the percentage.

According to Filipino Colonial history not in the entire Spanish period that the only Filipinos were the pure or almost Spanish born in Philippines were the Filipinos, during the mid part Español Mestizos were accepted by the to society to be called as Filipinos and the Mestizos and Insular is quite interchangeable to one another as in Las Filipinas the mixed white were considered as white born in Colony, while in late part of Spanish period the Chinese Mestizos and educated Indio where accepted by the society as Filipinos as well.

The mix ratio here means that the Filipino part isn’t as Filipino as it seems.
Well for one let’s just say what the Pinoy part is actually “Austronesian” and then mixed with either or any - Spanish, other European nationalities, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Middle-Eastern, African. This is before the Pinoy half of the parent migrated to the USA.

There is no such thing as 'American' blood. So, if you say Filipino-American or Japanese-American or Chinese-American, you're talking about, say, of Filipino blood but of American nationality (born/raised/naturalized in the US).
