You should have watch her direct after the song...She gave it all...and she needed almost a minute to recover. Lara is amazing..the best performer there is. I liked your reaction. Keep up the good work. Hi from Sweden.
I appreciate your reaction so much ! Lara is one of the absolute best female singers I’ve ever heard . This performance broke me into an emotional puddle . I just heard her sing “Caruso “ today for the first time and I played it over and over ,I couldn’t let go of its beauty ,I highly recommend you give it a listen . Her voice is gorgeous ! Thank you
“Je suis Malade”, now a french classic, was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973. This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me, whiskies, I pour my blood in your body, …). When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was leading to a road block, she came back home and compose the music in a couple of hours. The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in … 20 minutes. Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, it started to be promoted on the radio, and the song was brought to fame only when, a few months after, Dalida covered it. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad. But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s. At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version. She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet during is own Paris concert in January 1995. It was a triumph. So he sat in a front row seat and asked her to sing it again alone. Lara also had made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power. Serge and Lara became good friends and performed several other duets later on. The 1999 version ("From Lara with Love" Concert in Montreal) ua-cam.com/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/v-deo.html is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries. The most recent ones I am aware of are from italian singer Giulia Falcone, from the korean singer Choi Sung Hoon or from the korean band Forestella. Lara is used to perform the song very differently in each of her tour and for instance this 2003 version is even more dramatic ua-cam.com/video/SyILdRAOS88/v-deo.html
She is the real beast live. Her performances from the same concert as this song are insane! "Adagio" --> ua-cam.com/video/bqoS-KOLV_4/v-deo.html "You're not from here" --> ua-cam.com/video/Vv8XFXKXRLI/v-deo.html "Perdere l'Amore" in Italian --> ua-cam.com/video/mcmhCfH9OfQ/v-deo.html "Caruso" --> ua-cam.com/video/BP2KnLemT78/v-deo.html "Quédate" in Spanish --> ua-cam.com/video/cX0CPdBV75E/v-deo.html
It's not only the voice, she's singing her own emotions into us, into our souls. Direct soul-to-soul communication in all her songs, , we know you feel it. So do we,,,,,,,,,,Top vocaliste in the world, speak fluently 4 languages, major star in Europe, # 1 in Russia ... Sony music sign her in 1999 and the Céline Dion group did not like it and that story, i will let others telling it. I grew up in Québec Province, Céline is great, but Lara is the Queen
It won’t take long for @Eric Sicard to give you the low down on Lara. My only suggestion is to choose live performances of hers to react to as she puts all the emotions into live performance. Any song from this concert, From Lara with Love, is world class!
Exelente reacción! Saludos desde Costa Rica! Hermosa obra maestra impresionante de Lara Fabián, la mejor cantante e intérprete del mundo entero, la voz de cristal más bella y perfecta que existe! Reacciona por favor a Adagio, Caruso, You're not from here, Perderé l'amore, Quédate, To love again, Traviatta, Lebedy, Parce que tu pars, Angels pass away, Mademoiselle hide! Gracias!
There is perfection, and it's name is Lara,,
She's just the Queen!
First time watching you. Great reaction. Lara is Master Class. Lara is a master class performer and storyteller
