It's one of my pet peeves when you're at a sale and someone doesn't mark something (or they're oblivious and don't take off the very misleading "3" sticker like those people did) and when you ask what the price was or give an offer, they laugh condescendingly and go "oh gosh no, hahaha yeah way too low, man. That's worth so much more." Okay buddy, if it's worth SO much more, then mark it at the price you want. It's a garage sale, people want to pay next to nothing. Literally makes my blood boil when they laugh and act like that, or they think they're doing you a favor when they say "it's worth $100, I'll take $50, it's SUCH a good deal."

People have garage sales to make money on the stuff they no longer want. They are reselling. Why do resellers think people are just going to give stuff away so someone else can make money.
It's alot of work. If your gonna give it away you would just donate it. My thoughts. But it has to be reasonable.

My garage sales are great! I make good money. I give deals out, too. I run my sales for three days, and they are successful. My customers like to see and feel what they are buying.
The prices on eBay are outrageous!
The people on eBay want to triple the prices of people from their yard sales while the people at the yard sales do all the work and take the time to organize, clean, lifting hundreds of items and set up.

I just don't get people who put something out at a yard sale, no price tag, you ask them what they want and the response is "I don't really know . . . ." LOL! How does that not make you just stand there and look at them incredulously?

Wow That garage sale where the man won the golf item…. $110 for those boots and THEN the way they acted about the golf item. They were quite rude all around goodness.. I would’ve walked away and blurted out “I know inflation is affecting people but WOW” haha jk

The little old lady with the Kauai book, had some really interesting vintage looking hanging blouses, might have been a smaller size I certainly would have looked at those.. might have been out of your lane but there might have been other interesting stuff out there ---plus she was pleasant easy to deal with, not your typical ball breaker... lots of very strange people in California having garage sales...

Cleaning vinegar does wonders on battery corrosion - I have never had a corroded terminal not work after scrubbing with cleaning vinegar, then alcohol
Gotta love those ebay prices at garage sales (insert enormous amount of sarcasm)....They'll "get it" when its 2pm and they still have the same amount of stuff as when they started. LOL🙄

Check w local large interior design places. They’d pay you a lot more for those gorgeous bolt cutters & use as high end display piece for their clients. Might be another revenue stream for you. Why do people put stuff out for sale, you ask them the price and they say" I have no idea". They drive me crazy.

I'm not sure if you know this trick, but baking soda and water paste can clean off battery corrosion. We use a qtip to clean it off. 😊

It drives me crazy when people are too lazy to mark the items they are selling and you have to ask what the prices are for everything. The item with the 3 sticker on it looked like it was $3 then when you asked they got all snotty about it. Duh dude, change the sticker or take it off if you are not going to sell it for that price. As a reseller myself I don’t do garage sales unless I plan on losing money on everything I sell unless I am desperate to sell it. I also don’t like setting up sitting there all afternoon. And then having to repack everything I didn’t sell

I remember when Parker would set in the middle of a box of (smalls) toys.
As someone who goes to and has garage sales frequently , these sellers would drive me crazy ! If you are going to have a sale know your prices and when someone ask you a price just give them a price . And the first guy who acted like you were crazy for asking if the item was $3 .. I mean it had a 3 sticker on the box why wouldn’t someone think that is the price since you are at a garage sale 🤦🏼♀️. Also if they don’t want to part with something don’t have it out at a garage sale . Matt is a very patient guy .
