Nice to see someone who looks after his machine....that clean you drive in just your socks and you have a rug mat under the peddles...man after my own heart....why can’t all farmers be like you
Wow, what a great informative video Jonny - goodness knows how you remember what all the individual buttons knobs and switches do!! Tractor driving nowadays has changed so much. What a lovely tractor!
Yet another great video Jonny, very informative and (as you always do) presented with humour in your laid back friendly style. Many more like this would be very welcome....
This was great. I dont own a fendt but i think i could drive one based on your video. You could make video series about how to drive tractors, combines etc. with every brand- fendt, case, john deere, claas etc. When other youtubers make these kind of a videos, they doesn't explain everything as good as you, so it would be very fun and educational if you would create this in a regular series
I became obsessed with Fendt. I shall be going all out into agriculture to own this monster tractor. 2 yrs investment into paddy production, I will own one
Great video Jonny thanks for showing this its bonkers now what you got inside the cab last tractor I was driving was case 5130 that was 20 years ago its changed a lot look forward to next video
Hydraulic and PTO controls. As always a great video. I also love the idea of teaching and showing how big equipment works to people that dont have such machinery. I love your chanel so much because its so unique. Keep up the good work. (sorry for bad english not my first language)
Thanks for a grate intro, please give us a complete Gide from start to plowing setting PTO, tyre pressure safety tips and more on the different settings. But do it slowly section for section please. And thanks again for your info. From Danie South Africa
I happened upon your channel last night and I'm already trawling through your entire box set ( il call it) really interesting and informative, the channel is awesome and in my eyes really professional your a good, friendly guy and that helps, keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to the next one.
Great stuff Jonny.!!! The more I see about the new hi tech stuff available nowadays the more I wish I was born in the 90's not the 60,s!!! Stay safe fella.!! Will hit ya up on FB,!
Easier then I thought it was to change to the different modes..i think you should do a "off to work" type video...like driving from your house to work then to the field...just an idea..keep up the good vids 👍🏼👍🏼
I like your videos and the Fendt 1050 Vario is my favorite traktor of all time. it could be great to see what all the other switches can do or how they work.😀😀😀
Thank you very much, Jonny. I've always wondered what those buttons do. Btw, I noticed when your Fendt is going straight, the steering wheel isn't straight. Why's that?
Enjoy these vids mate. Be interested to know how you mark your headlands - like in the ploughing video when you put your wheelings in - gps, step it out or just a good eye. Also when drilling, how do you mark your ins and outs and do you drill upto tramline or to edge of sprayer width on your headlands?
@@kitanomusic yea I know I'm not fucking stupid I was joking to. Jesus my bloke is boss of farm we got 3 combines, 2 foragers and 9 Tractors sorry we have couple lelehandlers. I don't believe somebody could think somebody was thick without making themselves look 100% thicker?
Sorry Chris I tried to carry your joke on but some muppet ( soz if u know him actually, feel sorry for you if u know him) tried make me look stupid when me and my Chap been involved in and around agriculture for a our 26 years!
Q: How do you judge the right speed for something? One thing is actually using the implement.. But doing the turns at the ends... Is it judgement calls on what you physically feel in the cab, a set speed or a recommended speed form the manufacturer of the implement?
That’s a good question! It’s a bit of both really, the manufacturers will generally tell you what speed the implement has been designed to work at. But that only really applies in perfect working conditions, so it’s best to use that as a rough guide. The discs I’ve got on the fendt are designed to be used at 16kph but I very Rarely get up to that speed, it all depends on conditions in the field. It’s really down to the drivers judgement as to whether they are doing a good job or not. So with the discs I know I need to be chopping all the surface residue up, and incorporating that into the soil, while leaving a nice level, firm finish. If that’s not happening i will tweak my speed and the depth of the discs until I’ve got the desired result. I Hope that helps a little bit :) Thanks for a great question and thanks for watching! Take care :)
Great video, could you show how you (drive the fendt) how to change ranges up and down on road work and field work in KPH. For example coming to the end of a field and change down and turn around!
Hiya mike! Thanks mate, it’s been a rough week but getting there now. He really suffered at the end, it was the hardest part watching him in so much pain but he’s not in pain anymore. Just got a heck of a job sorting his affairs out now, I’ve got 92yrs worth of stuff to sort through. Hope your keeping well mate, and not working too hard now silage season is well underway!
Nice video Jonny! I had the pleasure of driving a 724 profi during harvest in 2017 - amazing bit of kit. Machinery manufacturers seem to be trying to cover all agricultural machinery... what do you think the chances are of seeing a Fendt materials handler (telehandler)? Massey have got one after all...
Awesome video haven't seen anything as useful when explaining how this stuff works. I am used to deere so it was interesting to see the differences. If I am honest I'll stick with deers setup. Just seems simpler. But this setup does allow for a tremendous amount of customization.
Thank you! That’s high praise indeed, genuinely appreciate you taking the time to say that :) Yeah, the fendt setup is very complicated at first... it’s not something you can really just jump on and set off ploughing without it being explained first. The customisation is massive, you can nearly make any button do whatever you like. Once you’ve got everything dialled in, and programmed to how you like it, it gets a lot simpler. Deere’s cab layout has always been great, I agree with you on that! They are the number 1 tractor brand in most country’s for a good reason :)
Looking to use the Fednt and Krone Ultima for silage. Would like to place the Krone mower on the front so I can run one pass silage baling. If you have any suggestions on using the Fednt tractor for that I'd be happy to hear them.
Considering you haven’t been doing UA-cam for that long, you’re doing really well, give it a couple of months and you’ll have as many subs as like deano, George etc 👌👌
Thanks Walter! I’ve watched George and Deano for years and years, if I can accomplish 10% of what they have done il be over the moon, they are like my UA-cam idols, they pioneered the way forward for agriculture on UA-cam :) and are genuinely lovely chaps :)
Eh up chap !. I’ve watched several of these “how to drive a fendt videos” and yours is one of the better ones !. But I still don’t get it lol, I think I need to get a drive in one it’s about the only way I’ll kinda pick it up !.
I drove one for a few hours. The hardest part is the first 10 or so minutes. Best thing for it is to find a decent size of a field and play around with the different drive modes
You are the best. Thank you so much. I’m gonna be carting silage next week on our farm on our 826 with a 16 ton Richard Western. But do you think I should use pedal or stick mode to keep up with the chopper? Hope your enjoying your work!
Hi josh! Thanks for watching mate!! Id personally use pedal mode for carting silage, it’s what i do when I’m carting grain away from the combine, I feel like I’ve got a little bit more response for higher speed work. But some people might prefer stick mode. I’d have a bit of an experiment and see which one you prefer :)
Jonny 1388 will do mate. I’m new to this. Only been working with on our farm for about 3 months and there’s lots of jobs I’m yet to do. I’m looking forward to learning! Thank you for the advice.
Hi, My female friend drives a fendt tractor and I've told her I've always wanted to drive one... She said I can have a go... I'm excited, but so I need a special licence or do a course or something before... And I'm slim and 5 foot 4...would I be thrown about in the seat? 🤔😂
A silly question, without the pedal mode and without the tms, if the engine is at 1000rpm at 5Km/h, what happens if I increase the engine speed to 2000rpm without touching the joystick, the tractor go to 10Km/h or does it continue at 5Km/h
Hi Jonny I’m a new comer to UA-cam land and the old farm videos. I’ve taken inspiration from yourself, Gareth (cotland farmer) tom pemberton and George Saunders do you have any tips for me to get my videos out there/seen or how to improve them cheers
As a farmers daughter who is long out of the game, I always wondered ( and was too embarrassed to ask) what that joystick was for. The nearest I'll come to driving a tractor is requesting my brother's 1991 Massey for getting to work in the snow. As I said, I'm long out of the game.
Can you set speed cruise control for road driving like in a car, or it’s just for slow speed during some job in the field? and what the max cruise speed you can set it for ?
Great video Jonny, I noticed the 1050 doesn't have the two buttons above the TMS and pedal mode, which are to change gear ratios for infield and road. Does it do it automatically on there?
Farmer Chad Hey, no the 1000 Series only turn on the all wheel drive up to 20 km/h.. The transmission has bigger hydrostatic pumps, so there is now only one driving range required
Nice to see someone who looks after his machine....that clean you drive in just your socks and you have a rug mat under the peddles...man after my own heart....why can’t all farmers be like you
