Sky to Summit: Course Recon

Beegum Gap to Wilson Gap
This is a little more than that but that descriptions is pretty close.
Oct 1, 2024. I’m out on a training run, but also helping out a friend scout his course. Rabun Bald to Wilson Gap had already cleaned by ‪@runbumraces‬ but Hurricane Helena came through, so Sean needed to know the extent of the damage. Me doing this saves him some time to put forth into other efforts.
Anyways, great run. It was a beautiful cool day. It was mostly cloudy, but I was under a green tunnel most of the time. There was quite a bit of blow down but limited to certain sections.
Darnell Creek area had not been touched yet, so blow down is from all year, and some of the blow down is worse.
Finished up after my second trip to Rabun, and was pretty happy about it. I wanted to go further, but I was moving slower than I would have liked with the blow down on course and I didn’t want to be out ALL day.
