However I lived in London for some yeas as a university student during 70’s. It seemed smaller than what it is today, very safe , not expensive ,it had style , finesse,culture and it was a very nice place to live. The essence of the night life nowadays is mainly alcohol. People are lonely ,flirting is not what would one expect and it is quite sad seeing beautiful girls well dressed being drunk and throwing up outside of bars.

I guess the cleaniness is quite different from your story. In the clubs, market, and resto in London street are dirty, litter, trashbag are in every street, especially at night to dawn. Unlike Moscow in Russia, street are well maintained to be clean. But the best part of me in London is nightlife.
