- Hello there! Star Wars Tales of The Empire wasn't perfect, but did give us a new look at Clone Wars General Grievous, Rukh, and Admiral Thrawn. But what if Barriss Offee faced off against Darth Vader for her betrayal of Ahsoka? Find out now!

I skipped over a few episodes here and there. Honestly the Morgan ones weren't that interesting to me...
While some argue over whether Barriss should've stay an Inquisitor or not, I think we can all at least agree that her Inquisitor armor was cool and should've had more than one short.
I never pictured her as willfully joining them, so personally, I like that she did…basically by force (no pun intended), then left when she saw what it was really about.
What fools are arguing that? Just because she disagreed with the Jedi, doesn't mean she's going to automatically side with the Sith lmao. Her entire problem was the fact that the Jedi were forcing them to go to war instead of being peacekeepers.
@@tronovonflidder775 I think your missing the point. Barris is an ideal candidate for being an inquisitor. She dipped into the DS. She wouldve been conditioned and more before she went on her first mission. Ask how fun it was for 2nd & 9th sister lol
Barriss should have stayed villainous. Give the story much needed antagonist with some history and one that hasn't been repeatedly clowned.

Theres 2 logical explanations for the last one:
1) Lyn’s species age well or live for a long time.
2) As a healer who puts much of her life into others Barriss is loosing a lot of her life and it shows physically. Combined that with stress from being on the run.

The deeper into the dark side you go the more deformed you become and the more your body takes a toll. You horde and cling to hate to survive. Its selfishness to a degree. You can overcome this temporary like Sidious (who mastered all 10 forms of lightsaber combat and is insanely fast) by putting all your energy into that. The Grand Inquisitor said Barriss was still fighting like a Jedi so shes predictable. This is the same guy who was at her trial and loosing faith in the Jedi so he’s deep.
Barriss rejected the darkside and returned to the light and shes not bothered about loosing her life because shes a healer and being selfless. This deforms her but not in a bad way. Shes not old so shes still physically capable but not without any problems. So she would be putting her energy into movement and into predicting Lyn. She did say anger makes her predictable. And look how fast and fluid her movement is. Its almost like they used motion capture for that part. On top of that Barriss was acting like a true jedi. She was using the force for defence not attack. Compare that to The Grand Inquisitor who did the same thing but physically attacked Barriss. And she was like Ezra in Ahsoka to a degree. He used the force to attack but he was still defending himself and others. “The force is my ally.” Also Yoda was old and he needed a cain but like Sidious he mastered all 10 forms and when he has to he diverts energy into his fighting. He’s selfless as well and he said the force is my ally in 5.
Thats why I love these 3 episodes so much. You really see how the 2 sides mirror. Barriss fell out of the Jedi line but unlike the other Inquisitors like the 10th brother she never truly lost her away and became a true Jedi. 11 years of waiting payed off. Props to Dave and the writers of these episodes. Cant wait to see what they do next with Barriss.

I think its more likely the animators were lazy/ran out of money and they made an old looking model for Barriss because thats what they needed. It could also be allegorical to show through physical appearance that Bariss has grown up and matured while Lyn is immature while also being trapped in a state of stasis. It could be displaying that Lyn is dominated by fear thus she uses the Imperial cosmetics and plastic surgery facilities to stay young and sexy because she is ruled by her fears as Bariss points out, she is afraid of being replaced by younger Inquisitors thus she retains her youthful appearance to avoid appearing weak.

All throughout Barriss' redemption arc I kept thinking: "This is the same person that bombed the Jedi Temple, killing a lot of innocents, and was totally willing to get her friend executed for it." (Side note, why didn't the republic kill Barriss, for a crime which they sentenced Ahsoka to well death)

I get the joke, but the events of Fallen Order happened 5 years afterwards.

The small scenes of Grievous were the only scenes I enjoyed in the whole show. Well maybe that and the shot of the 4 Venator Star Destroyers Escorting the Imperial 1 Star Destroyer. And of course all scenes with clones are greatly appreciated but it was such a missed opportunity to show Fox Getting Gutted by Vader as Justice for how he treated Ahsoka not to mention revenge for Fives.

Two things in the show REALLY bothered me.
The retcon that Morgan came up with the TIE Defender
Barriss becoming an Inquisitor for like 2 seconds before deciding it was bad and becoming some weird guru healer (and then someone in Disney SW surviving a stomach stab wound for the umpteenth time).

Well, too, be fair, Trooper, Commander Fox didn't give Ahsoka a chance. The second he saw her, he pulled the alarm and started blasting 😅
I was hoping Barriss would come for revenge against Ahsoka. But the moment she gave up the inquisitorius, this won't bode well for Darth Vader, he'll know who fails and dies just like how he managed to keep the Grand Inquisitor alive to become an eternal ghost guarding Sith artifacts.
Why come revenge against Ahsoka when Barriss felt a regret of doing that to Ahsoka the moment she lost with Palpatine in trails? Eh, you people do not watched carefully the whole arc.
And Vader is known for his tactic of letting his enemies go to track down bigger targets, we know it since New Hope. Vader felt Barriss is in conflict, he knows she will leave Inquisitorious, and he hopes to track her down to find Ahsoka and kill both of them.
This was very good, but most of these have simple explanations that you probably missed. Thrawn obviously did not design the TIE defenders. He is an admiral, not an aerospace engineer. Barriss wasn’t targeted by Order 66 for the same reason Anakin wasn’t targeted. In the Clone Wars, Jesse said that they were given special orders from Palpatine to execute Ahsoka and Maul. Barriss got old quickly because she was draining her life force to heal others.
In the original canon, Thrawn DID design them, because he’s a man of many talents.
Retconning that it was Morgan’s idea is just a cheap way to make her feel more important than she actually is.
The problem comes when in rebels it is said explicitely that thrawn DID designed them, so now we have an incongruency.

@@borjab. This didn’t happen. Thrawn doesn’t have the skills to design them. It was his project that he promoted and oversaw, but obviously someone else designed them.

Vader stuff aside, if Barriss’ arc had one extra episode where she is found by Ahsoka and they both cleared the air, then I think it would’ve been better.
It won't be bad for us to Barrissoka fans ( I ship Barriss with ahsoka and idc what the 5th Fifth Season says about it and they are a Canon couple in my AU)

While the Barriss episodes weren't what many expected or hoped for, her story post TCW season 5 was no doubt something people wanted to see. Can't say many were excited to see Morgan's story.
Other imperials I think would've been better to see more of would be Kallus, the Grand Inquisitor, or one of the Imperial clones like Cody(find out more about his offscreen defection), Fox before Vader killed him, or Wolffe on how he's supposed to join Rex.
I was kinda hoping to see Captain Enoch’s pre night trooper armor in the show tbh, also yeah Vader should’ve been the one to kill Barriss

Although I have one little suggestion, whenevr you do something relating to the Empire during 19 BBY and onward, Captain Rex should be referred to as Commander Rex because they do not know that he was demoted to a Captain.

I don’t think Vader would’ve had any beef with Barriss since, after Padme’s death, Vader did everything he could to bury any connections and feelings related to Anakin Skywalker as a coping mechanism to deal with his trauma. He literally saw Vader and Skywalker as 2 different people; it wasn’t just some bit he was doing to try to hide his identity from the rest of the galaxy.
I think he would've still had beef but wouldn't have done anything about it until she gave him an excuse to.
He had beef with Tarkan, and It had to do with his past life as Anakin Skywalker, it also just so happened to be the Ahsoka incident
@@Blizzards_holocron - Yeah, but his beef with Tarkin had more to do with how he acted around Vader and how much preferential treatment Tarkin got from the Emperor. To Vader, Tarkin was just another slightly higher ranked grunt, but he believed and acted like he was somehow the equal of or superior to a Sith Lord. And the Emperor never corrected him because he knew that it enraged Vader.

What they did with Barriss was the best thing in that series. She became what a truly Jedi should be.

Actually, the TIE Defender was the brainchild of Grand Admiral Demetrius Zaarin. Dude betrayed the Emperor and attempted to seize the throne; when he was killed, the Defender idea was mothballed.
I was over the moon to see Grievous one step closer to returning to his former glory!
*What if Vader sent the Inquisitors after different targets*
Grand Inquisitor: Lord Vader, we received a tip of a Jedi hiding amongst farmers on Raada. I am deploying the Sixth Brother to intercept.

Fourth Sister: She is a traitor and will be dealt with as such!
Ahsoka: That's ironic coming from you.... Lyn.
*Fourth Sister angerily charges at Ahsoka*

*Ahsoka easily counters and kills the Fourth Sister with her own lightsaber*

My man, where are the voice actors that you had?
The Barris episodes were a huge swing and miss. The writers had it made, especially drawing from Barris and Vader alone. Her perhaps realizing who he is/and or sensing a familiarity to him.
Her Inquisitor training was skipped. Inquisitors go thru hell and worse for those spots. Fallen Order elaborates a bit on that. Wouldve made for powerful storytelling for Barris to survive the mental anguish, isolation, and training to an Inquisitor..all the while having to walk a tightrope with Vader. Vader wasnt a fan of the Inquisitors...but he definetey didnt like her. Those episodes coulve served as Barris' karma for her crimes in TCW S5.
Well the fact that Vader actually just sat there and said nothing probably means that he either didn't care about Bariss or was expecting for her to make her move like he did for Reva
But then again, wouldn't be surprised if Vader actually just kept her as an inquisitor if she'd stayed

My guess is that Sidious had plans for her, he probably saw that she was great at manipulating and tricking, much like him, and she’s also very powerful and went toe to toe with Anakin.

Once again, this was better than the actual show.
I think the reason Barris had aged so harshly was due to her years and abilities as a healer. Using her own life and energy to preserve others’.

Tales of the empire felt mostly like an excuse to shoehorn in filoni’s ahsoka themed characters, after ahsoka was such a mid tv show. Must admit, I’m not a fan of Dave’s recent directions, with Mando S3 and most of Bad Batch
I don’t think he was that involved in the bad batch except for writing the first episode and what’s wrong with the bad batch?
Mando season 3 was mostly Favreau. He wrote all the episodes.
@jacktheflash8478 1. A lot of Bad Batch episodes are silly side quests that don't contribute to the plot and 2. The plot involving rescuing Omega became circular and repetitive by the third season.

Definitely a much better ending to Barriss than what actually happened.
If I’m being honest the Barriss episodes should have had her capture Luminara as a test to prove her loyalty we get a confrontation between the two and leads to her spot in rebels.
And if I’m being honest the Barriss arc should have ended with both Barriss and Darth Vader face to face leading to her death.

Morgan's arc is literally about nothing. Everything that was shown to us, we already knew from the trailer. (Morgan from Dathomir, survived Grievous' attack, joined the Empire out of revenge against the Separatists, became Corvis's viceroy on Thrawn's recommendation, did not join the New Republic). They did not show why she is outwardly human, although her mother is Dathomirian, nor how she reacted to the end of the Clone Wars, nor how she first joined the Empire, nor her reaction to the disappearance of Thrawn and the fall of the Empire, nor the connection with the red grandmothers from another galaxy and the discovery of the ancient maps, not what she actually did on this planet, what she mined and produced... oh, and WHY THE FUCK BURN THE FOREST? WE KNOW YOU ARE EVIL!
Morgan's first episode was the only episode of hers I liked the most since it at least told about her early life and how the massacre on Dathomir changed her forever. Also, Morgan was a milf in animation in her episodes as a mid-aged woman and imperial loyalist. Just saying 🤷♂️
Canon Barriss kinda disrupts timeline for revenge of the sith movie she suppose to die in ordered 66 deleted scenes and it was later adapted for movies comic
