The alliance may be less powerful than zaft but they have some amazing technology too, they deployed the GAT series with great success in C.E 71 and the new windam for aerial combat now, these machines are comparable to the zaft aside from Gundam units.

EA fleet to fragile if compared to UC EFSF especially during battle Solomon or A baoa qu... EA fleet had lot attacker but no fleet specialist defense or support unit like EFSF did(no Guncannon type, no GM Sniper type or no other Gundam deployed other than 3 on board Dominion)

Zaft pilots have years of experience in terms of mobile combat. That’s why it’s hard to take down a Zaku frame let alone a Gundam frame

@@animefrasier story wise, the minerva and its MS should not have been there. That whole Battle should have ended in a massive dissaster for the zaft/earth fleet. It would have put Miberva and cres on the Spot to salvage a victory later.
ZAFT should have had no chance in this war, they were scraping the barrel for manpower at the end of the first war, their birthrate was abysmal and the only thing that had been keeping them in the fight was that they had mobile suits and the alliance didn't, so 50 men could have the combat power of an armored division or three ZAFT ships could beat an entire Earth fleet with a handful of mobile suits. But then the Alliance gets their Daggers and throws ZAFT off of Earth and rather than waging a war of attrition decides to go for the jugular with a nuclear attack resulting in a ceasefire. It's one of the things I really dislike about Destiny, they just shove that strategic balance under the rug and excuse it as the alliance is infighting, or Break the World, or whatever, but ZAFT just always seemed way too profligate with its forces in Destiny despite taking horrendous losses just two years prior.
Zaft had ALL of the named talent by the start and the end of the second war (all extremly young too) whereas the earth alliance was corrupt and had no intention or ability to fight long drawn-out battles. There was a "Lindemann Plan" which limited army's due to population that puts after the huge disadvantage yet they seemed to gain strength with leftover forces plus ORBs Corononators (shin, impluse engineering) joining By the mid way of seed destiny smaller states wanted to brake away from the bullshit of the power grip of EA and the manadtory conscription. Western Eurasia suffered and the allence slowly started to cumble within from there. It's never mentioned directly but by the end of Destiny the alliance's in shambles
It's losses were mainly MS and base personnel. It's space fleet and Earth submarine fleet were largely intact. They only needed to graduate more pilots. Many coordinators moved to the PLANTs during and after the war. ZAFT pilots and soldiers are also teens. Another thing is that Durandal needed the Alliance to fracture internally to win. ZAFT was in a huge stalemate for most of the war. Only clinging to friendly territories and their main bases.

@@danielallan8061 I don't know about the space fleet, Boaz was utterly destroyed and the heavy fighting around Jachin Due at the end of the war as the Alliance threw everything it had at the PLANTs to stop Genesis from firing again likely inflicted substantial losses on ZAFTs space fleet. I'll give you the coordinators moving to the PLANTs likely helped the overall manpower situation but they've got to still be treading water. Though perhaps the rushed training your talking about explains the losses as the new personnel were sorely lacking in experience.
