This is amazing. By far the most comprehensive test of spray drone capability I’ve seen carried out. I heard about this test and think it’s pretty gutsy to bring in your competitors and experienced pilots to put forth their best work. It shows that Hylio has confidence in a great product. I’m looking forward to see what’s coming from them!
I'm only new to drones as a hobby. Great video and results! So, I hope you don't join Skydio and other companies in lobbying the US government to make a law banning DJI drones.
Bad results. DJI's flight speed at 2 GPA is almost double what they were tested at. Neither DJI nor XAG had product experts on hand so they weren't represented accurately, yet this video and PDF are presented as scientific and authoritative. C'mon! Y'all need to upload a rematch. All ag drones are similar in capability at this point. If Hylio wants to stand out to customers and investors y'all should prioritize credibility.
We appreciate the input. Hylio did not operate the DJI drones in this study; operators from Rantizo with a lot of experience on the T30 and T40 platforms were running them. As far as we understand, the DJI software chose that flying speed for this field based on the 2GPA target. Please share if you have had different experiences.
The Rantizo Rep admits they aren't familiar with the processes on the T40 (10:39). They are not DJI experts, which taints the results. Hylio makes competent drones. There's no need to fib with the fine print.
While the Rantizo pilots are not direct DJI employees or product engineers, they are very skilled and have used the T30 and T40 platforms extensively for commercial applications. Based on what we saw in the field, it did not seem like there was much they could do about the DJI flight software locking them into those settings for that target dosage on that area in this test. The experience showed us that while there are positives to the DJI software, it can also be somewhat confusing and unintuitive, even for very skilled operators. @@loganl.andrew4459
@@HylioI was impressed with the AG-272 at the field day at the conference last week, but that was not an apples-to-apples comparison. At 2 gpa and 11-12’ altitude, the T40 should be flying at 20 mph with an effective swath of 28’ or more. Always happy to see development amongst all companies, but clearly the operator was not familiar with that aircraft.
This is why i don't get dji fanboys that composing about ban saying there are no American drones ant where near close to dji. Cause they don't even know commercial drones or even searvh anything but dji. They didn't even know mainstream drone companies i named.
I am a DJI fanboy because they simply make great (and in most cases, superior) products. Their American counterparts tend to be pricier and less developed
@hehe-mq2bk in the spray drone industry this isn't true. The Hylio can out spray DJI and while they might be a bit more price wise they are upgradeable with the new technology and the value stays with the drone. Where the DJI drones get phased out and worthless in a couple years. Also the Chinese gov subsides this market and that's why they are cheaper, not necessarily the best or the best value.
XAG is garbage. We had one and it was worst POS we ever had. We decided to buy another drone but this time we bought a DJI T40 and it was a night and day difference. The XAG is collecting dust.
P100 or P100pro? I heard the same thing but with people switching from DJI to XAG. I’m just trying to research and decide which drone I want. What chemicals are you applying and could you just give me any advice? Thank you!
@brad I don't know anything about XAG except they look much less advanced than Hylio. If you have flat or undulating terrain, Hylio is the king of speed. They'll go 30+ mph. Hylios are now legal to swarm, which we've done, and a few on a field will haul massive ass. Incredibly productive on non-technical terrain. If you have terraces or technical obstacles nobody matches DJI's safety systems, and nobody comes close to DJI's manual control. The software on the T50 is the best yet and with the extra sprayers it can do 5 gpa at 22 mph. The most productive on challenging terrain.

Thank you for the kind words, Gordon! We will keep trying to learn more and improve our products.
Great job Hylio. I'm a customer of Hylio and couldn't be happier. Can't wait to put our 272 to work. The Hylio family is the best. Thanks, Neil
Glad to hear it, thanks!

Did anyone do any testing in vineyards, orchards spraying?
