    Thank you so much for reinvigorating me today. Been doing recovery work since my diagnosis nearly 15 months ago and felt as if I were back to normal”square 1.” All your videos, but this one in particular today, has helped me recognize that is utter nonsense lol. Thank you for helping me keep going

    It is so often something explained about ROCD.
    Could Rob explain how to deal with HOCD (POCD) and how to recover from this shit, PLEASE!
    There are so many OCD sufferers out there who suffer from these two absolute worst OCD fears/themes.
    Would Rob be so kind to help these OCD "group"?

      There's plenty of recent videos on this UA-cam channel, all talking about those specific themes. Look for them, I promise you'll find what you're looking for.

    Can you maybe give tips on how to conquer contamination ocd? The fear of spreading? Etc? Because I experience all these things with that ocd too 😅

    Is ignoring the intrusive thoughts (the OCD) + doing the opposite of what the OCD tells you + moving on with life + focus on your REAL will, the only/right way to get rid of OCD?

    • @godot9223
      @godot9223 10 місяців тому

      The reality is that you won't "get rid" of OCD ever, and this is really hard for people to hear. That's why Rob explains it in such a way that you have to move on with your life while disputing irrational beliefs and making peace with OCD being in your life. You're not supposed to ignore the thoughts, or do anything opposite, you're supposed to make peace with the fact that absolutely anything could happen in your life, even losing control. OCD nearly took my life away with the most taboo related themes, but luckily I found this channel and have been able to be on a recovery journey since, meaning I'm disputing irrational beliefs and make peace with things happening around me even right now. This obviously doesn't mean "go do the worst things humanly possible and give into intrusive thoughts", because that is precisely what you don't want happening, rather instead you make peace with the fact that your worst case scenario MIGHT happen anytime in the future and you're still going to accept yourself and live your life unconditionally.

    Rob, do you feel that you are truly recovered or is helping others part of your therapy? Don't get me wrong, your videos and quotes have changed my life for the better but part of me is sceptical on recovery. Perhaps that's just the ocd thinking but just wondered...

    Does this also work for someone who's terrified of vomit? I don't know if it's part of my OCD but I've had it all my life. If I eat something my mind goes 'what if it makes you vomit/throw up!?' I also panick if I over eat, even though I don't feel like I'm going throw up my mind still says the question because I'm not comfortable with/hate the feeling of feeling full.

    Hey man! I don’t know of you read these comments but I’ve had issues with contamination ocd, pure ocd and now my Brain is stuck on existential ocd. It makes me feel like life is meaningless because I feel like who cares we’re just gonna die. I feel stuck and like there is now help. Where do I start on the road to recovery? I can’t find anyone who specializes in ocd where I live and feel like there is no help. My medication works well most of the time but I need a resource or help in regards to accepting uncertainty, exposure doesn’t really help with existential ocd. Please help or point me in the right direction towards how to work on my ocd. Thanks bro I greatly appreciate it.
