    The ATV winch worked quite well. It looked like there was a lot less stress in the cant as you cut deeper into it. Nice boards. Have a great week Brent!

      I totally understand . I completely tore my right rotator cuff off 5 yrs ago . Sometimes I need alittle help also .

      Hey Dave thanks for stopping by. It's part of the white oak family. Leaves are similar to chestnut, bark is thick with corse ridges, boards are tight grained and a little darker than white oak or red oak.

    A bit of stress for sure. Hobby hardwood suggest to roll the log 90* and cut again. I tried it on a problem log with not much success. You should do a water toss over the board to show its grain off for us. I do t get any chestnut here in Pa so it would be cool to see.

      Thanks for stopping by. I tried that when I had a hydraulic sawmill. It didn't work very well for me either.
