The ATV winch worked quite well. It looked like there was a lot less stress in the cant as you cut deeper into it. Nice boards. Have a great week Brent!
Hey Dave thanks for stopping by. It's part of the white oak family. Leaves are similar to chestnut, bark is thick with corse ridges, boards are tight grained and a little darker than white oak or red oak. Brent
A bit of stress for sure. Hobby hardwood suggest to roll the log 90* and cut again. I tried it on a problem log with not much success. You should do a water toss over the board to show its grain off for us. I do t get any chestnut here in Pa so it would be cool to see.

Thanks for stopping by. I tried that when I had a hydraulic sawmill. It didn't work very well for me either.
