  • Mozaico Flamenco presents "MOSAICS" which documents the History of Flamenco in Vancouver with important flamenco personalities and mentors who shaped the artistic landscape of Vancouver Flamenco. This is a biography of Vancouverite, Harry Owen, flamenco guitarist, who is one of Vancouver's pioneers of flamenco being one of the first flamenco guitarists from 1965. He played solo flamenco guitar in the restaurants in the late 1960s and worked with Spanish cantaores, Jose Lara (migrated to Vancouver from Madrid, arrived in 1969) and Angel Romero (migrated from Puertollano, arrived in 1970) and started the first Cuadro in 1973. Harry's passion for flamenco led him on a life's pursuit of flamenco studying in Spain, to Toronto where he ultimately met his wife and bailaora, Veronica Maguire. This documentary is also the biography of Ontario bailaora, Veronica Maguire, whose journey in flamenco with Harry led her to British Colombia where they founded ALMA DE ESPANA and nurtured countless flamenco afficionados in Victoria, BC since 1989.
