What a great show. Love the Host, Love the background, Love the topic. You forgot Whistling at Night, and a Pregnant Woman wearing a Safety Pin for a safe pregnancy. But OMG, I've told countless mothers how cute their children are.. Sorry 555
Very interesting. Some old people here in Maine believe it's bad luck to rock a rocking chair that no one is setting in, It will cause the person that sets in it the most to die earlier than they are suppose to. Some believe finding a heads up penny ( coin ) is good luck. If it's tails up then leave it alone or you will have bad luck. Some countrys believe a Black cat is bad luck and some believe it's good luck. I believe it's JUST a cat.
Really interesting- all cultures have these in some form and this was a fascinating insight. Especially the large proportion of these involving ghosts and spirits!! Also, I’ve been caught out with the colour wearing thing a few years back during one of my visits. 555
If a bar girl in Pattaya bends down and looks between her legs, I don't think it's ghosts she'll be seeing. Maybe something old, white, and wrinkled. But definitely not a ghost. lol
Hi Sara, Great video, super interesting. Nicely presented too. I feel this topic is far from exhausted. There are surely many more superstitions to continue this for a few weeks. Just ask my mother in law... You could also ask the audience to contribute with superstitions from their countries.
@@TheThaiger Just a few: 1) Rules for bed headboard direction (never West, best North) 2) Sweeping dirt from inside out the house (loose money) 3) Eating the last piece of food from shared plate (lucky) 4) Speaking of a person then showing up (long Live) 5) Consult a monk or fortune teller for auspicious dates 6) All sorts of animal superstitions
Not cutting hair on Wednesday is not just Thailand. I lived in New Jersey 1950s-60s and barber shops were always closed on that day Coincidence or not I never knew why. A web search revealed that it was a old business practice to compensate for working Friday nights. Maybe the Thai reason is similar and less ancient.
Yes. praising baby "cute", Old Chinese also believed in this, if praise babym "Cute", the "Heaven" will be jealous about the baby and somethings unfortunate will happened to the baby, hence old Chnese would give their childrean a nickname, e.g. Dog, Chicken, Pig etc..
This voice ... Hummm I can't quite pin this voice down... Like Western anchor school training voice a hint of British... Maybe ajust the bass? I feel her voice in my hand holding the phone looking at the show. Even when turning the volume down. Anyway welcome to the team.
A few months ago I bought my Thai friend a green dress. She was going to put it on, but she then realised that it was Saturday and wearing green on a Saturday brings bad luck, so she waited until Sunday. God bless you, Thailand.
Really interesting superstitions. I've never heard of any of them. I'm coming back to Thailand in December and will ask my Thai friends about these. Thanks 🙏👍🏼
I'd think the Thai nickname is one most people don't know. I'm not Thai but been told parents didn't want to call out to children by their distinct legal name for fear that spirits would target them. So the nickname was something difficult to distinguish one from another: frog, fish, orange, water. I enjoy this idea but i'm not certain it's correct, so any comments are welcome
I have been to Asia many times Thailand and the countries around. Don't forget that every country they offer me some coffee on something on someone has some ice cream and stuff like that. But in Thailand, never, never, never does anyone offer anything that just takes and takes and takes.
Thank you for watching, please click the like button and comment if you enjoyed the video :)

Glad you enjoyed it Richard
The whistling at night is a big no-no , it drives them ape shit fearing ghosts will snatch em up . As a half Thai , I hear them all from mother .
Thank You for sharing this topic with us 👍
Good segment, like to see the new Thaiger content.
Welcome Sara > & whoever in wardrobe selected the shirt deserves a raise😁
It's great to see you working with the team in the morning show you are a good addition to the team 👍
Thanks Frank
Thoughtful, and compelling .
Always learning. 20+ years and still find the magic.
Now I don't feel as bad for thinking most babies are ugly and squishy, I'm protecting that kiddo from a ghost!

You're welcome Mike
very interesting! merci!🙂
Some real acrobatics of the mind 😳
I love the color day code.❤
And the haircut day so interesting ❤
Glad to hear it, Carol!
Good one! I'm from the USA, but now I often wear the 'correct' colors on the appropriate days of the week, mostly for fun.
Helps for a colourful week as well nebula
Helpful and interesting.

Is there a difference?
The Chinese call us “Gwei Lo” meaning “foreign ghost”
Try and be a bit more intelligent

I here all the time when referring to young babies: "Sawai" or beautiful as their name.

Amazing! What an interesting topic
I love Thailand's culture and main belief system.
We do aswell!
Nang Nak is a great Thai movie! I watched it again last Halloween 👻🎃 phi Mak sounds like a interesting remake though I’ve not seen it yet.
Good show, Sara!
Thanks pgsanta

Reminds me of the Seinfeld ugly baby episode.
Thumbs Up 👍
Thanks 👍

I wondered why my Thai friend said a baby was ugly once lol after I’d said it was cute😂

You should! There's a lot more where these came from
In defence of us old blokes, it takes us all night now to achieve the same which in our youth took 32 seconds ;)
Good Evening Sara ❤️

9:22 "Not wearing anything in the soil" Whats that?
Went through a demonic encounter in sabai inn soi 2 pattaya
what’s the name of that dude?
Yes, whistling disturbs the super natural.
My mother told me in the past I should not whistle at night because otherwise I attract evil ghosts ^^'
Same here haha
Don't burn your hotdogs on the roof of a chicken coop.
Don't whistle during the night
Yes! Been told off for that many times Rolf
👍🏻
😁😄😃😀
Wow, no wonder Thailand is a "developing country"......
Had a new Friend after a Thai separation, bird poo all over the car.
A lot of possibles, but even more half assed suppositions masked as evidence. Next.

It must be you.
I've been to Thailand many times and I've been offered drinks or food frequently. I've had the opposite experience from you.
Most interesting. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
