I loved this! I've been a fan of Josh Groban since his first big hit single "To Where You Are". In my honest opinion, I really feel that he is underrated in the music industry. It's a crime that he does not yet have a Grammy. He should have had a handful of them by now. His voice is definitely the voice of this generation.
Grammys became a popularity show; not a talent one. He's too good to be "popular" because unfortunately the majority of people just wants easy and mediocre sound. I bet he prefers less fans but devoted ones who will love him forever, and be with him on his journey, instead of being a trendy thing that lasts a couple of years before people put it away. Idk if I'm making sense because I'm sleepy 😴 and I can't think straight, not even in my own language!😂

This is my favorite album of Josh. I’ve always loved how romantic and tragic this album sounds. Especially love how he goes into the Romance languages. Plus I’m a sucker for string instruments 🥲🫶🏻
And his accent improved always, from album to album! His Spanish was good in "Josh Groban" and got way better in "Closer" and in "Awake" a bit more. His Italian in "Josh Groban" was pretty good in and it was great in "Closer" and it kept on improving, and in "Illuminations" it was wonderful already, close to perfection! His French it's pretty impressive because, even though he mispronounce some sounds, there are others that sound almost perfect! His portuguese is close to perfection, as well, and he pronouces the "ão" sound as a Portuguese native speaker! I've never heard someone got it because it's very difficult! 😊

TY for this wonderful interview ❤️. I love Josh. A voice like no other and my music link to my mom who first heard him on our Chicago PBS station when he was only 17. I took her to see his concert before she passed and I never miss him when he tours in Chicago. ❤.
My wife passed in 2014. But up to that point she was an original Grobanite from the start with his first appearance on Oprah. She loved Josh so much! We were so fortunate to have seen him live at various venues, including The Greek, Hollywood Bowl and lastly, Red Rocks (2013). Closer was a great album and brings back so many wonderful memories. Kind of bittersweet for me, but sweet.
Closer remains my favorite Groban album, and I have many. He's so talented it's unreal. I've seen him live 4 times, and I can't wait to see him live again.

I cried at the end hearing David Foster and Josh talking to each other. This album is so wonderful! Raise Me Up IS and remains my go to song to lift me up through my son's illness and bone marrow transplant, my husbands near death and all the struggles of life.

I've never heard my version of "how i discovered Josh": Was watching an ice skating performance, and a very young Josh was singing at one end of the rink. My conversation with my friend was stopped in its tracks, with a "WHO IS THAT!?!" I waited until the credits at the end to get the name "Josh Groban". Immediately drove to our small town's sole record store. Yes, they had his self-titled cd, and they'd sold a few copies. I made my purchase, popped it into my car stereo, and fell in love. I've had the jumping-out-of-my-skin pleasure of seeing Josh perform in person 5 times since that fateful day. I am BEYOND GRATEFUL to have had that Josh discovery moment 20-some years ago. Anybody else out there remember the "ice rink" singing moment?? Wud love to hear about it!
Yes, he sang with Charlotte Church that night didn't he? I remember him saying something about how cold he was and was trying so hard to keep his vocal cords warm. It was the same when he sang at the Christmas tree lighting in NY. He was so cold he was trembling poor thing! 😅 But he sounded amazing as usual.
The Closer album was actually my first introduction to your music, Josh! Once I listened to it, then I went back to your first album too. I’ve seen you live 3 times, and one of those times, I won a fan club meet & greet! You’re also the reason I wanted a Wheaten terrier, and I was blessed to adopt my Reesee and have her with me for nearly 9 years. She passed away in May. Greetings from Toronto. I clearly remember purchasing "Closer" already loving Josh and Celine's duet. Was it already 20 years ago? Well David has brought us so much great music, and the gut for rare talent which Josh has. I then purchased another for the cottage, and a few more for x-mas gifts. I was raised on vinyl, but I'll hang onto my CD's forever. So glad to be able to go down memory lane, and a genuine thank you for being a part of all of the important memories, including today.

I like the song "You raise me up". I've ever used that song when lead prayer together with headmaster & some teachers in school from different religion. Nice song and could accepted, all wanted to sing. Good job Josh. 🙏❤

I cried at the end hearing David Foster and Josh talking to each other. This album is so wonderful! Raise Me Up IS and remains my go to song to lift me up through my son's illness and bone marrow transplant, my husbands near death and all the struggles of life.

I've never heard my version of "how i discovered Josh":
Was watching an ice skating performance, and a very young Josh was singing at one end of the rink. My conversation with my friend was stopped in its tracks, with a "WHO IS THAT!?!"
I waited until the credits at the end to get the name "Josh Groban". Immediately drove to our small town's sole record store. Yes, they had his self-titled cd, and they'd sold a few copies. I made my purchase, popped it into my car stereo, and fell in love.
I've had the jumping-out-of-my-skin pleasure of seeing Josh perform in person 5 times since that fateful day. I am BEYOND GRATEFUL to have had that Josh discovery moment 20-some years ago.
Anybody else out there remember the "ice rink" singing moment?? Wud love to hear about it!

Yes, he sang with Charlotte Church that night didn't he? I remember him saying something about how cold he was and was trying so hard to keep his vocal cords warm. It was the same when he sang at the Christmas tree lighting in NY. He was so cold he was trembling poor thing! 😅 But he sounded amazing as usual.

The Closer album was actually my first introduction to your music, Josh! Once I listened to it, then I went back to your first album too. I’ve seen you live 3 times, and one of those times, I won a fan club meet & greet! You’re also the reason I wanted a Wheaten terrier, and I was blessed to adopt my Reesee and have her with me for nearly 9 years. She passed away in May. Thank you for the music and congrats on celebrating 20 years of Closer! 🙌👏🏼🎶❤️

Greetings from Toronto. I clearly remember purchasing "Closer" already loving Josh and Celine's duet. Was it already 20 years ago? Well David has brought us so much great music, and the gut for rare talent which Josh has. I then purchased another for the cottage, and a few more for x-mas gifts. I was raised on vinyl, but I'll hang onto my CD's forever. So glad to be able to go down memory lane, and a genuine thank you for being a part of all of the important memories, including today.

I let my daughter skip school to see you in Nashville, we had the time of our lives at your concert. We stood on a corner afterwards and you waved at us from the bus when you passed by. You are still special to us, so very talented and heartfelt music.
This album meant so much to me and carried me through my teenage years. I ended up taking odd jobs to see the Closer tour when it came around as a kid. I looked up to Josh as a dorky choir kid and was just in awe of his voice.
