Saw them back in 2002 at the Grassroots Festival in Trumansburg, New York and danced my feet off. They are still one of the best live bands I have ever seen.
Saw these guys a few years back and they blew me away! Out of all the big name performers I've seen over the years I've never seen so much talent on one stage before!
Having watched their very first radio appearance in 1997 live, and hearing 100s of interviews of these boys, the first was the best at WERU in Maine, I was there. But I must say this is the best DJ interview extant. Good job DJ.
Love this band💕 - only found out about them in 2021 when I came upon 'Wagon Wheel ' while checking out some Bob Dylan songs - their story about Dylan is no more than they deserve 🤗 I'm gonna have to repeat what all the other comments say , they are soooo talented & hard working making real live music Thank You for posting 💖
This guy at KEXP is really good at bringing down the level one or two steps. "Well that's great and all and whatever anyway .. you guys are great and all, well anyway.."
First time hearing these guys. They are incredible. I never have heard such an upbeat version of Will the Circle be Unbroken in my life. I just have to see this band live. Super.
just saw these guys in Athens GA. they tore the roof off. Ketch Secor is a true punk rocker, he said the chili at the Waffle House next door was UGA! lmfao
Im a guitar teacher, teaching this style to young school kids, 5 to 13 they are liking the style , we are moving away from twerking, thank god, great music!
I love KEXP, Sturgills KEXP recordings are some of my favorites. That said, for such a short video there are A LOT of ads. I understand monetization (I used to be a commission only booking agent for live music, so I understand the importance of finding ways to not only make sure the world here's great music and not going broke in the process) just seems a BIT excessive amount of ads for a song 5-6 set
I saw them from Ketch side at the front at the Crystal Ballroom one smokin night long anon. As I recall, Ketch is the sweatiest guy I ever saw at a show, except Willie Watson who was still in the band and even SWEATIER! Holy moly did they cook that night!
I've heard several bands mention how early they have to be there to perform on KEXP. I'm curious if it's actually early or just early for the musician lifestyle.
I have known these guys since the early buskin' days when they couldn't grow whiskers on there chins.Glad to see they are still together but the new sound is to produced for me, the fiddle follows the melody of the voice/lyrics. Willie and Ketch had a dynamic harmony, without Mr Watson the diversity has diminished. Check out Gill's solo stuff, really cool and a bit dark. Also Kevin released a solo project. They both are the more silent backdrop musicians who have to have a steady gig, but really have it going on in other ways.
Damn I had no idea neither Wagon Wheel or Sweet Amarillo we're originally "created" by Dylan. Be great to hear Ian Noe doing covers of these two OCMS songs he's got the voice of "country Dylan" I can here the "Dylanesque" influence now. Very "Basement Tapes" / "Big Pink" (with The Band") "This Wheels on Fire" et al. Shit I would much rather here Ian do Wagon Wheel than Darius Rucker 😜 (love you D.R. well done cover but Bob Dylan you are not)
+jacksabbath2007 Dylan's harmonica style is nothing like this. Dylan's style is more like picking a note and just blowing the shit out of it it's more of the story telling
You Ya'll really want to find true soul fed southern music? please.. come up to Ashland,ME...just a dog hairs length past Bangor, ME... ill show you boys inspiration for a 13 track album. we live off of whisky, dirt weed, and banjo's up here! and we love company!
No Way. Willie is kicking ass doing his own thing. They wanted to go in different directions and are doing what they love. I highly recommend catching Willie if he comes to your town. Saw him with Gill, Dave and John Paul Jones at the Ryman last year.
P Young I agree. I've known these boys since they was just learning beer. I'll not say anything but Willie is awesome. I do know that about the time Willie left the boys had quit boozing wisely. Critter quit over it. They quit being my friend until they heard I quit drinking, now we're all lovey dovey again. the boys are clean and sober, with the occasional toke, which is actually verboten on the tour bus. When I heard Willie doing Going to California with JP Jones I knew Willie Watson is going to be just fine.
P Young Not a big fan of his new album. Love WW in the Crow. and was so the driving factor, they miss him no matter what anyone says. Watch that Easy Express movie, hes the one whos pushing the jams with everyone. As much as I love Ketch's talent I expect the ego was too much to take for Willy. just my opinion from a little bit of knowledge.
I know them well. Ketcham Secor hasn't one iota of what you call ego. The guy exudes gratitude, love and humility. Critter and Ketch were driving the bus when Willie got on, and they were driving the bus when he got off. I've been in the back row since 1997 before Willie, and let me tell you, nobody is rooting for Willie like his brothers in OCMS. Do not underestimate their decency folks.
I must say, willie's album blows the last OCMS out of the water. It is a throwback to what made me love them in the beginning. Willie sounds like Roscoe Holcomb, Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Sr. and so many more great artists are channeled through him.
"Remedy" is an awesome album. I saw them in San Francisco on the Remedy tour. I still feel a bit cheated because they didn't play "Firewater," which is my favorite song on that album, yet the guitjo player did a song, which was not very good, and they kept playing fast stuff that all sounded the same. I paid more than $200 for those tickets, so I feel that I have a right to complain. Still, it was a great show.
LOVE the song "O Cumberland River." One of the best bluegrass songs I've heard in years. Excellent performance!
Great tune. Not bluegrass though. Missing a bunch of elements of bluegrass. Hillbilly music, ok. Americana, ok. Not bluegrass though.
Nobody gonna mention how perfect that KEXP DJ's mic sounds??
this band has more talent in their pinkie fingers than all of the mainstream garbage country bands put together!
+J Dub Right on!
They really do.
One hundred per cent
Sho nuff
Amen brother
These guys keep bringing the world good music year after year! Thanks KEXP for this great video :)
Saw you all, & from Jackson, WY❣️. Love you all❣️🔥💯
Saw them back in 2002 at the Grassroots Festival in Trumansburg, New York and danced my feet off. They are still one of the best live bands I have ever seen.
Way over due...such a talented bunch! I think they would be just as happy playing in the mud for 100 people as they would to a sold out stadium.
Saw these guys a few years back and they blew me away! Out of all the big name performers I've seen over the years I've never seen so much talent on one stage before!
Likewise. Blew me away when I saw them a year ago.
I saw them a few years in Wilmington DE. They are so talented & energetic. It was the most fun concert I've ever been to.
Saw these guys play live this past weekend. WOW! They come out and basically make the crowd have a good time with them. Fantastic band.
These boys are truly talented.....I would love to see them Live.
They are AMAZING live. Do it.
Upstate NY represent
Having watched their very first radio appearance in 1997 live, and hearing 100s of interviews of these boys, the first was the best at WERU in Maine, I was there. But I must say this is the best DJ interview extant. Good job DJ.
When I bought Remedy, every song I listened to was my favorite. And then the next and the next. They are all so good.
Love this band💕 - only found out about them in 2021 when I came upon 'Wagon Wheel ' while checking out some Bob Dylan songs - their story about Dylan is no more than they deserve 🤗
I'm gonna have to repeat what all the other comments say , they are soooo talented & hard working making real live music
Thank You for posting 💖
god damn I love this fucking band.
Don't we all.
Me too. They are coming to Australia next month and I'm gonna see them with my partner. Can't wait.

:)
This guy at KEXP is really good at bringing down the level one or two steps. "Well that's great and all and whatever anyway .. you guys are great and all, well anyway.."
like a fresh breeze. thanks
61634 views and at least 61000 of those are me.
Great set by an excellent group
Super talented group playing REAL music! Not manipulated in a studio! Singer reminds me of Jerry Lee Lewis
After the health issues and everything... so glad to see them back.
First time hearing these guys. They are incredible. I never have heard such an upbeat version of Will the Circle be Unbroken in my life. I just have to see this band live. Super.
Playing live in a small stuido and it sounds this great. Amazing. Great song
just saw these guys in Athens GA. they tore the roof off. Ketch Secor is a true punk rocker, he said the chili at the Waffle House next door was UGA! lmfao
Man, why dont these guys record live..? Can't listen to the album after hearing how good they sound here.....
Blonde on Blonde live album is insane. Check it out if you haven't.
Guess that’s why they signed up for the oldest live radio broadcasts in history?
So glad Critter is back! Missed that mug, and that harmony!
didn't know he left
Critter left?
He left way back in 2004 and came back after Willie left.
thank you for sharing
Im a guitar teacher, teaching this style to young school kids, 5 to 13 they are liking the style , we are moving away from twerking, thank god, great music!
Glad to know that 5- to 13-year-olds are moving away from twerking.
That's a beautiful thing
Oh, this is a keeper!
BRILLIANT! Love these guys.

43 people have no idea what good music is when they hear it.
Just great!
They're returning to Seattle 5/10 @ Moore!
great band
How the MFH does this not get your adrenaline boiling at the surface?!
They sound like The Band on that last tune. Awesome
Yeah I luv the band too. They had a country influence with the fiddle and all that. Americana or whatever you wanna call it.
International workers of the world, Unite!
I saw them from Ketch side at the front at the Crystal Ballroom one smokin night long anon. As I recall, Ketch is the sweatiest guy I ever saw at a show, except Willie Watson who was still in the band and even SWEATIER! Holy moly did they cook that night!
Ahh, love it too much. Got tears and shit.
me too, brother sister
I've heard several bands mention how early they have to be there to perform on KEXP. I'm curious if it's actually early or just early for the musician lifestyle.

Seattle on AWTHUUGHRSDAY MOWWRNIGN
Hahahah damn Ketch
Kind of reminds me a little of Bod Dylan, somehow, but I cant quite put my finger on what exactly it is that makes me think of ole B.D.
+Giuliano Toniolo the harmonica
He GREATLY influenced OCMS
+jacksabbath2007 Dylan's harmonica style is nothing like this. Dylan's style is more like picking a note and just blowing the shit out of it it's more of the story telling
They talk about Dylan in the interview...

Come to Machias

Good grief! Check all of those instruments flowing together
BRING BACK WILLIE WATSON!!

Wo's playing guitar during the intro of Brushy Mountain?
How y'all doing?
hawdy
Being an old friend of Bob Dillon he is was waiting to be invited to play with with Old Crow. That would have been COOL.
"Remedy" is an awesome album. I saw them in San Francisco on the Remedy tour.
