Dr Eric Berg has a great video on the nutrient breakdown of the whole lemon. I wouldn’t cook with the whole lemon juice, I think heat destroys a lot of the nutrients in the lemon? In Dr Bergs video he recommends drinking the juice made from a whole lemon with stevia or blueberries blended in to cut the bitterness.

I will definitely do this with lemons! You could always put in fresh ginger too. Once I was traveling in Europe and became sick with broncitus and had to fly home in 3 days. Didn't want to be coughing on the flight, if I could of even boarded. So I ended up eating a whole lemon sliced each day before my flight. It completely took away all the symptoms of broncitus. To this day I try to drink the juice of one lemon each day.

You might get the same results when eating orange with the peel and seeds too. Try blending all citrus fruits till they are smooth. Put in airtight container and put in the fridge. I do that each year and have not had flu for years. I even dodged Covid somehow by taking this mixture almost daily. I also add other spices at times to it - ginger, turmeric, cinnamon etc or other fruits like berries, watermelon smoothies etc.

I blended these with organic limes instead of lemons. I used the leftover pulp that collects in the bottom of the Vitamix to make a lime beverage by adding water and trying a fig since they were most handy.

Great idea and video. I have learnt to blend the whole lemon with 8oz water and then filter the out come, then freeze with sticks in them to get lemon ice pops. I've done this with Lemon and Lime, Orange and Lemons. Even added blue berries or other berries to mix it up. Make sure you add extra water to the blender, so that they freeze like pops.

I just recently started blending up the whole lemon. In 1cup water+.
I just cut my washed lemon 🍋 into slices, pop them into my Bullet blender with a cup of water. Then, I let the blender work! The liquid turns pale yellow, nearly white. I then pour the liquid into ice cube forms to freeze. I can then use the yellowish ice cubes in my water. Thanks

Another way to freeze and store: Put blended into freezer bag, seal bag tightly, score into 2” squares (use chopsticks or a ruler edge), and freeze flat. It’s easy to break them apart after frozen. I do this with fresh garlic and homemade curry pastes as well.

Best to keep stacking the half lemons on top of each other in the lemon squeezer. That way, you will get more pressure as you compress them and re-squeeze them It forces out more juice and extract from the peel..

These blenders are capable of crushing ice cubes, and turning frozen bananas into nice cream. There is no need to juice the lemons first. Just cube the whole lemon and blend it up. I would use Meyer lemons, as they have a really thin peel, with very little pith, and lots of juice.

Blending the whole lemon is great, I really enjoy the flavour of the pith and peel in there. It's a bit like a preserved lemon but not salty. Sure Dr Greger peeled his lemons which is great, but I like the whole lemons too. Freezing whole lemons and grating a bit of them when needed is a useful tip from another UA-camr. Using strips of the whole lemon in savoury dishes is yum. Great idea to show how you do this technique.

@The Jaroudi Family - do you need to change the amount used in recipes or just the same? Example…if recipe needs 1 tablespoon lemon juice, can you just use 1 tablespoon of frozen cube? I made my first batch yesterday! 😀

Can you use it with other citrus? ie: tangerines? oranges?
