Update: I found out that by packaging the document, ID will place the generated file in the links folder. Nice!

Newer Update: Someone in a forum found an easier solution: select the generated images in the Links panel, right-click and choose Copy Links to.

I'd say for a magazine, poster or something small, you're just fine. The larger the application like a sign or billboard, you'll likely notice.

how do this images get saved? I tried some yesterday but today in the preview they are no visible.

InDesign links the generated images, but only the one that is active in the image frame. For example, if you generate 3 images and you want the second variation, you will see it in the Links panel as GenAIImage_2. When you package the InDesign document, the image will be saved on your computer. Hope that helps.

I don't think so. AI is wonderful for generic images or illustrations. However, when you need something specific - designs that are related to your project goals - then photographers/illustrators are still very much needed.
