Fun fact : In Get On Up, Chadwick did most of dancing and singing himself although he didn't have a dancing and singing background before that. He trained two months to learned how to sing and dance properly. Such a talented actor, you cannot hate this man! God bless you king, may your soul rest in peace.......🙏 💔
I’m amazed at how physically fit Chadwick was for this role. He was 38 ! Usually they get younger actors for this energetic performance. Chadwick owned this role and was outstanding
When I saw this film Get On Up, I literally felt like I was watching James Brown himself! Chadwick rocked this role! Breaks my heart that he was taken so soon, RIP Boseman!
Totally agree with you!...Love Chadwick & Nelsan...still miss them (would've loved to see them make more films together) but we will Always have this Masterpiece!
Casting Chadwick Boseman to portray James Brown was genius! The Godfather of Soul was super talented, however, Chadwick's talent was a force to be reckoned with! May they both RIP!
Hi Sir Mark, I’m from the Phil’s, I’d like to ask for some help, I don’t know how but I’m desperate to ask to people even though I’m super shy to ask and it’s not normal, but I had no one here to ask help, because of this pandemic my family suffer enough, I have job but not enough to sustain and to pay some obligations, I wanna ask if you can lend me or sponsor then I will pay monthly in an installment if u can, please,
Nelsan Ellis was my favorite after seeing him in True Blood!! But it sure was and still is a treat to see him and Chadwick together in this movie. RIP 2 Kings
RIP to both Chadwick Boseman and Nelsan Ellis(Bobby Byrd). These 2 dudes were absolutely great in this movie and both very talented actors gone to soon!
What an incredible performance. Chadwick nailed that likeness to a T. You could really feel it was James himself. Agreed he should have gotten an Oscar for that. may they both rest in peace.
Man.. I had tickets to see James Brown and he died a few days before the concert. And i remember being so sad because I almost got a chance to experience his music live. And now that Chadwick has passed this just hits even harder 😔
But there are hundreds of film clips and videos that give the James Brown experience to anyone that needs it . . . but there was nothing like seeing it LIVE!!
Some of us didn't know that James Brown is the mentor of King of Pop Michael Jackson. The energy and passion for the music is something special that he learned from his mentor James Brown.
James Brown would have been so proud to see this young man play his life story. I know Denzel Washington was proud and very heartbroken when we lost him. He was on his way to being another one of the greats in his field. After watching him in a movie, he leaves you wanting for more. Now, he is performing on the other side of the heavenly door - You are so missed on this side. RIP
I remember seeing this with my dad, grandma and brother the same day it came out. Chadwick did so well, at the end everyone in the theater stood up and started clapping and cheering. Just phenomenal
Should have won an Oscar!! Mr. Boseman was taken way too soon, rest in peace Sir!! God truly blessed you!!! You were an AWESOME actor!!! we all miss you!!!
When I think about Chadwick Boseman and Heath Ledger it breaks my heart. They just scratched the surface of what these two talented men could do. May they Rest In Peace.
Chadwick was the consummate actor! He was a chameleon. Whatever role he played, one never saw any other character then what he was immersed in. "42" being Jackie Robinson, "Message from The King", "21 Bridges", "Black Panther", "Marshall", "Avengers: Endgame" . The man died waaaaaayyyyyy too soon RIP my brother, You were KING!❤❤❤
Best scene in a great film. This scene is near the end of film. When I saw this in the theater , this scene was so good, I was shocked it was near the end , cause if the film went on another hour, it’d still be great. Chadwick was outstanding as James Brown. Didn’t try to upstage him but played character with great respect. Had his dance moves down Pat ! One of the great bio. Films.
Chadwick‘s the only actor I could see that could play between roles first, Jackie Robinson was unbelievable. James Brown might’ve been his best performance. T’Challa Black Panther will go down as his most iconic role.
You know that was a horrible James Brown imitation, i got every James song ever made and went to SF to see James and Oakland and Chadwick did a horrible job in the movie
@@matt7iron u can’t expect someone to act the same as the person they are portraying like bro that’s common sense u can’t be like someone else it’s impossible lol
Pure excellence is what I see when I watch Chadwick in this film. One of the best to ever do it! Pure excellence is what I hear when I listen to James Brown’s music. Well done to 2 grand Souls. 💛
I didn't expect that movie would be so painful to watch. It's his story, but also it's the story of Black history. Fantastic music acting and production. Hard to believe Chadwick succumbed to cancer so young. He seems like a powerhouse, invincible. Very sad.
What’s cool about this. James Brown was my father‘s favorite artist. (Favorite.) Grew up hearing him my (en)tire child to.) This is the last movie he & I watched together. 🕊️
Growing up and watching James Brown and the music OMG brought so many of us inspiration and power during those times. Unforgettable. Chadwick was phenomenal. Soul Power.
My,my I surely do miss Chadwick Boseman he was such a great actor portraying Black artist in music or athletes or drama just a all around guy ,and doing this the last few years knowing ha had Cancer, what a man Rest In Peace Chadwick Boseman God i miss you & your talent so much.love you man.
Chadwick broke the 4th wall throughout this movie which made me like it even more 👏🏾 Edit : @4:00 You get to see Catfish Collins on guitar and the legendary Bootsy Collins on bass
It's amazing that everybody on stage including James Brown, Bobby Byrd, the musicians, and all of those shake dancers had to be in perfect physical shape😊
Fun fact : In Get On Up, Chadwick did most of dancing and singing himself although he didn't have a dancing and singing background before that. Thank you for this, makes me appreciate his performance even more

You say he did most of the dancing, who did the dancing that Chadwick didn't do?
Such a talented man; I’m in tears for the loss his family has had to endure.
Actually he lip synced all of it...
Chadwick Boseman should have won an Oscar for his performance.
I totally agree!
That was a joke right?
ABSOLUTELY 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
No joke fe real Oscars get dished out for much lesser performances@@MichaelLasotaMusic
This breaks my heart.

When I saw this film Get On Up, I literally felt like I was watching James Brown himself! Chadwick rocked this role! Breaks my heart that he was taken so soon, RIP Boseman!
Yes, it was.I felt the same when I saw the movie.
The fact that James Brown really had three drummers on stage playing, speaks to how Mr. Brown really thought of things should be.
O
Many people fell in love with Chadwick as King T’Challa, but I fell in love with Chadwick as James Brown!😍 He completely embodied James!
Same here.
same !! unforgettable performance and performer.

I’ve said this before. Nelsan and Chadwick had great chemistry in this movie. And it’s a shame they are both gone.
Yeah, a lot of you are not even mentioning Nelson and they did have a great chemistry and it’s sad that they’re both gone
Nelsan Ellis was my favorite after seeing him in True Blood!! But it sure was and still is a treat to see him and Chadwick together in this movie. RIP 2 Kings

Chadwick should have been nominated and won his first Oscar for this movie and his portraly of James Brown. R.i.p to them both. Great and talented men
He would have won if James was gay ! That’s a Hollywood requirement today !
@@SuperBeachbum74 Smh! That's ridiculous and sadly somewhat true

Yes Sir, Chad did that! The Dancing, The Singing, just like James Brown! James Brown and Chad Boseman made their performances SCREAM!
Chad did not sing. James brown singing was dubbed over these scenes.
@uncleboyd5023 He still did sing live, though
🥺his acting was on point always 😔he left us too soon
Tbh it was not on point for his acting as JB. The only thing he really got right was the way he talked
Nelsan Ellis also
Chadwick should've won a Oscar for his performance of James Brown and Nelsan Elias should've won for best supporting actor of Bobby Byrd
