Hi, sehr gutes, informatives Video. Let it rock, Roger
Could you comment about the weight balance of these guitars? When you playing in the sitting position do they have a tendency for neck dive or maybe vice versa? I'm asking because I like Less Paul guitars, but it doesn't feel comfortable to play while sitting because the body of the guitar wants to slide back on my lap. I wonder if PRS and Fame Forum naturally balanced like a strat.
Hi Ringer, I personally find PRS-style guitars super comfortable to play. There are some people out there who dont like carve tops or the different scale length (25" on a PRS), so best would be if you try one yourself. But what I can surely tell is that I never had one which was neck heavy as this is something I cant stand at all.
@@MassiveSoundProductions Got mine about a year ago, and it's stellar. Same pickups as a Singlecut, excellent tuning stability, feather weight 6.6 pounds without any neck dive, coil split to go from SG-esque tones in the humbucker mode to a more Tele like sound, excellent playability. Overall gigging and recording monster.

Man, the FAME one is the best Price Vs Value, but, I have to say, the notes are very tight, the palm muted are full and frequency ranges are unbeatable from the very first riff that came out of that Custom 24 USA, OMG! Maybe replacing the pickups on the FAME one brings it very close to the PRS USA.
Thanks for your great comment and feedback Joga. The PRS is an amazing guitar but like you said the Fame is unreal value for money. With the same pickups you might come closer but the PRS will probably still have that extra in tone. Surely not worth the 3k EUR more in price but a PRS is an investment for life.
Awesome video. I'm subscribing! Question. I'm curious about the Fame, I see yours is a Satin model. Do you know if the one with a clear coat has a satin/unfinished neck or does the neck have a clear coat? Thank you.

@@TheSeaUponUs Sure, happy to help. Haven't seen other Fames with this finish in real life, so I can't really tell if the color is always like this. I could imagine that with the stonewashed look it might differ a bit from guitar to guitar...
Doesn't the PRS Cu24 have a 10" radius - not a 12" as you said? You can definitely hear more in the Custom 24 and by more, I mean more frequencies - a fuller sound where the other two are not so full. Another major difference though is that the bridge on a Cu24 does allow you to use a Trem. The SE and the other guitar do seem evenly matched. In fairness though, the SE Mark Holcombe was designed to play that type of music. Its built for Mark Holcombe of Periphery where as the others are built for more general purpose use. Not saying that someone can't play 'Jazz' or traditional Blues for example on the SE, but the target audience for it is likely to be those looking for that Mark Holcombe style of music. Its also a 25.5" scale length which Mark insists is better for drop tunings - in fact Drop C is the highest tuning they use and have used a 'stock' SE (not his own personal SE) to do drop G in a clinic. The other two, because they are not built to an Artists preferred spec, are built more for general use. Its clear that the Fame Forum guitar is mixing a Les Paul (thick body, 2 piece bridge, 24.75 scale length, 12" Radius?) with a PRS (shape) for their guitar and the Custom 24 is the guitar that PRS launched with and the typical PRS characteristics - such as the 25" scale, 10" radius etc.
Hi Bam, thanks allot for your great comment! You are completely right, the fretboard radius on the custom is 10” not 12” like on the Fame Forum. What you described in the difference soundwise is exactly what I have thought as well, the Custom has a fuller sound and is overall more balanced in the frequencies. Nevertheless I was quite surprised about how great the SE and the Fame perform on this type of music, especially if you think about the price difference. Seems that the modern version has different switching due to more complex electronics. The classic doesnt have a push-pull pot. Did you had the chance to compare the modern vs the classic? I wasnt sure if the neck of the modern would have been to thin for my taste
@@MassiveSoundProductions , yes, push-pull is used to turn on piezo pickup and there is a piezo/magnetic blend knob instead of tone. Also Modern has locking tuners. I could not compare them but it's definitely not the thinnest neck I got.

and change the guitars after that
Realistically, the Mark Holcomb signature was designed for aggressive playing at a lower tuning with thicker gauge wire but I agree clean tones are also important to compare.
Totally agree. All the videos I've seen on these guitars are made by shredders... I'd like to see the versatility of this guitar through clean playing and other music genres...
WTF? Fame is better guitars so why you wrote is better to pay more for better quality when it is not. Fame wipe the flor with PRS.
Thanks for your comment Luginon. The Fame indeed is a fantastic instrument for the money and spec wise maybe the best value for money you can find. Nevertheless the build quality on a PRS USA is still above the Fame and tonewise I also think that the more expensive US build PRS is above, but surely not worth 4 time the price. If you look for a PRS style guitar and you have 1k to spend I would always recommend the Fame
@@MassiveSoundProductions ok thx, those which i had chance to set up as professional luthier were above PRS made in US. For the one you have i don't know since i never held it in my hands. Nice video and cool rev. Rock on, cheers.
По атаке Fame проигрывает PRS
So wird 5 $ Gitarre genauso klingen
