I used to work in guitar shops. Got tired of it and started working security. One night while I was doing that, someone told me that the VP of Marshal was in town. Tracked this dude down in the Bar just so I could shake his hand. Turned out to be this guy right here. He’s a total dude and gentlemen.

I’ve found alternating between major and minor chords is effective at keeping things interesting. Nothing’s more intriguing than a C major followed by an A minor. Or even playing an A major followed by an A minor.

03:14 In the chord diagrams, there would be great benefit to show the staff notation of notes as well. Then the 9th and so on, would be readable.

Those embellishments are beautiful. ❤️ I am guilty of sneaking in the Cadd9. Even though I play heavily overdriven with distortion, I will use slightly cleaner chord embellishments by fingerpicking while stealing from traditional blues greats such as Big Bill Broonzy and Mississippi John Hurt. I tend to kick things in and switch to power chords, punctuated by rhythm pick scrapes or harmonics for the bridge or chorus; transitioning back to the fingerpicking. Any influence can potentially be taken- ….. or borrowed.

I do this in my songs. I may not know the names of the chords I create but they sound good to me.
