Beautiful car, I saw one like this in the late 70s in a junkyard in Missouri, green , white interior, white stripe , 440 4 speed. Car was complete minus wheels, sitting on blocks. Sadly my buddy and I had no idea what it was.
I bow to the green charger 500. A precursor to the Daytona. An attempt to get the car more stable and faster on the speedways. Great looking car. Thanks Lou
A year or two ago, a guy on my newspaper route bought a brand new 68 Charger... triple black with a 440 and 4-speed. Man, I still remember it's looks and sound to this day. It was a special order... and I imagine pretty rare. Manual steering, manual brakes, no AC, radio delete... what we would have called back in those days... a 'man's' car.

I would too. The 440 is a better street engine than a Hemi. But the 1970-71 Hemi was a way better street engine than the 1966-69 Hemi was because of the switch to a slightly milder hydraulic camshaft in 1970. The 1966-69 Hemi had a pretty radical solid lifter cam. But the 1970-71 Hemi was just as good of a street engine as the 440 was

Lou:Nice Mopar. I'll be the 1st to admit I'm not a Mopar fan per se. But there's always an exception to the rule and this is one of the Mopars of era that I actually like. The instruments especially when equipped with the "tick tach clock" is a very interesting design.
