Count Dracula was a vassal of the Hungarian king, Matthias Hunyadi. However, the Ottoman conquest caused him to flee from the land of Valachia. He therefore lived here in the Hungarian kingdom for 14 years. Historians believe that 50-50% of the time he was "imprisoned" in Buda Castle or Visegrád. He was not in prison, of course. In fact, in his last years he was allowed to walk free. His last wife was Jusztinia Szilágyi, with whom he moved to Pécs. Later he went back to Valachia, where he was executed. The Pécs's house was sold by his wife in 1489 and documents have survived.

Absolutely amazing hotel and the most beautiful breakfast lobby 😍 lots of movies were filmed there, including some scenes from the recent Gran Turismo ;) have a morning mimosa and enjoy your trip ❤️

No, they only have a very very nice lobby breakfast restaurant. It’s the most beautiful breakfast lobby we’ve ever been to. You can spot it in many Hollywood movies ;) We were surprised to see it in Gran Turismo 2023 😍
