    There is SO much great information here. Integral chefs are my favorite knife to make, but the heel has always been my Achilles (pun intended) as I can never draw it out as far as I would like.
    Preform is so important, but I tend to rush things and it comes back to bite me

    This just further solidifies that forging to shape is paramount. Looks so much better when the pattern flows with the blade shape. Well done, an amazing build to watch unfold.

    That pattern is looking really good, the little chain links look great. Love your workshop, not much room left for any new gadgets. Regards from Down Under.

    Really like the profile on them, plus how you get the pattern all the way through the integral. Lot of work so I hope the end customer appreciates the effort by clubbing you with big lumps of cash :)

    What’s the weight/material loss from the original billet (of bar stock before forge welding) to the finished knife blades?

    • @PrometheanBlade
      @PrometheanBlade  Рік тому +2

      The 3 finished blades are around 8 Oz each… probably about 8lbs each per two starting billets worth of material, so 16 lbs so 5.33 lbs steel goes into an 8 oz blade. So ultimately 90% or worse material loss all told.

      $100 doesn't even cover to hold the knife, it only covers to look at it when it's finished 🙂
