Nice animation. If I can’t drill down deep enough to the Cretaceous layer would the Paleogene period do?

You could inject a geopolymer into the ground, like Geobear - it treats the ground itself so it becomes a rock-like material. Worth looking it up!

Is there always a dinosaur skull next to the house?

I was told these types of exterior piers will fail and its better to have the piers directly under the slab. Which makes more sense

If you strike oil then the process pays for itself.

I need to better understand this system. How far down are these push piers getting pushed down into the earth and what determines the depth? Is there a ledge piece for hydraulic lift at the bottom of each portion of concrete slab you've excavated under? Do you just leave those piers with ledge piece in place and backfill w/dirt? - No compaction? No Concrete fill or rebar? Thanks!

I wouldn't mind getting to a stage where I could do this privately for individuals. Any idea of the best trade to train to get to a respectable level of competency?
And to be clear the underpinning doesn't return the house to its original level it just stops the building from settling any further?

There is no schooling that you can go to to become confident in the foundation repair field. Generally, the system manufactures do have a crash course that you can attend. The best way to get experience in this field is starting with a company that does it already. be cautious though because there are companies that will have you sign a noncompete agreement. Experience in masonry and or carpentry is a good start.

can this be used to make a foundation deeper? going from conservatory foundation to extension foundation, because of some trees we need to go down further from 900cm to 2500cm, on one side of our conservatory foundation........because of trees!!!!would this technique work?

+me me Whatever foundation you choose should be continuous for the entire structure. Changing the depth or type of a foundation within the same structure creates the risk of differential movement. The new building would then be constructed with a movement joint where it meets the main building or any subsequent extensions. I suspect the conservatory is on a clay soil and the trees have potential to draw moisture from the clay and cause shrinkage and settlement/subsidence. The weight of the structure is irrelevant. The soil conditions and the external influences dictate the depth of footings in most domestic scenarios. Obviously large commercial or multi storey buildings generate far larger loads and hence the need to go deeper to share that load on a larger soil surface. I hope that helps.
