  • In This episode, I use a few brackets I bought at the hardware store to store and organize my garden tools. When I repaired the roof of the shed I added a 2-foot overhang to keep the garden tools out of the weather.

    I would like to see an update in the spring on the condition of those tools after being outside all winter.

      Was thinking his stats he is in doesn’t have miserable winters. I assumed he was in Vermont which definitely gets its share of snow.

    Awsome job Jon, Inspired me to do the same on my smaller shed on the outside. I live in an urban area but can apply the same principles to gain some much needed real estate in my 8 x 6 foot shed. Thanks again.

    Very nice Jon... wish I could do something like that on my shop but if I did all my garden tools would be stolen overnight!...

    those multitool hangers are great until you need the tool in the back.
    they work great in hardware stores because you usually just buy the tool in the front, but for home tool storage I would stick to individual brackets.
    Great video tho, I really enjoy those small projects around your property

    The red paint looks sharp. It's a great color for a shed.

    I like Carona Tools. I have a couple small hand loppers and precision pruning snips. They have a good compact feel and look good too.

    Hey Jon, why don't you figure a way of attaching an aluminum gutter to that roof and adding a downspout at the back of the shed.

    • @jeffreyj.7508
      @jeffreyj.7508 3 роки тому

      Because the shed is up against the woods and the gutter will constantly fill up with leaves and other garbage

    Organization is an addiction I can get behind! 🙂. Nice and clean job Jon! I like the aluminum idea... never seen that. I hope to be building a shed next spring or summer...might need to look into this 👊

    I cannot endorse leaving metal tools outside in the winter to become corroded but I will admit the organization is very aesthetic.

    I've got the same issue with my shed. Only problem is that the siding is horizontal Hardi board over OSB and the OSB is what's rotting. I'll have to pull the siding from the bottom up to get to the OSB and not sure how to do that with the overlap - sure don't want to pull it all. Great idea with the aluminum strip! I've used STA-BIL for years as well ... never realized you could just squeeze the correct amount of ounces into that spigot so thanks for that too! lol Yeah, it's the little things. :)

    Good work Jon. Looking for home improvement ideas. Where could I find those type of brackets? Think I'll try the stabil rust stopper. You're much appreciated!

    I like the idea of using the same brackets that they use in the stores. Were those ones you purchased or did they have ones that they gave you? Curious as to where I might be able to get some.

    Lol great video but….where do you live where you can leave your tools hanging outside like that? Looks like out in the boondocks. No way could I do that in the city!!!
