Why should s/one choose 780xtx instead of HX80g for gaming ? (other than the size). Prices in amazon Germany are almost identical.

Thanks to your vid I bought the um780xtx :-) I am curious about o e thing I'm confused if I should set it to balanced or performance mode for emulations . Would ps3/switch emulation run fine on balance?
I've been researching mini pc's and this one ended up being at the top of my list.... a few things i'd like to point out that wasn't covered here...
to open the PC for potential upgrades like storage and ram, you open it from the top not the bottom. the top is a lid that you kind of snap open...that's also how you insert the tiger graphic (which by the way you can have a custom print made if you like)...after you open the lid there are 4 screws below that which is how you get to the internals.
This coming with an oculink port is a major plus. seeing as how oculink is faster in terms of transfer speeds to usb4...(you can attach an rtx 4090 GPU to it and it will run just fine)....granted, most people wouldn't consider doing that unless they are a major gamer, however you can use other less intensive and smaller gpu's to push your games a little further still.
speaking of games, it would have been helpful to show or say what settings you were playing each game, especially the PC ones.
the only downside I see of this PC is it doesn't have room for a sata SSD or hardrive due to the RGB lighting they put in there... yes, it has 2 pcie SSD ports which would be faster than a sata SSD but it is also more expensive. these days you can get a 1tb sata SSD for $50-$60 and a regular hd for a lot less...you can find a 4tb hd for $40 these days so that's something to consider if you're the type that prefers quantity over quality...granted you can just get an enclosure and plug in a sata SSD to one of the USB ports depending on how picky you are about desk real estate...also it would have been nice to have different color options for the case. other companies are getting pretty creative with their mini PC cases now. putting a generic picture of a tiger with generic rgb lighting seems a bit lackluster for a leader in mini pc's.
as for the price. the great thing about minisforum is they like to give people a barebones option so you can pick this up for $431 (currently 3/21/24) barebones (no ram, no storage) which isn't bad...especially if you are migrating from one mini PC to another (I currently have a beelink ser4)...all you gotta do is transfer your storage and ram and you're good to go....but wait, there's more...if you buy it from amazon and apply for their amazon card, they give you a $100 credit upon approval, so essentially this mini PC can be had for $331...and considering my ser4 mini PC cost me about $437 2 yrs ago, that's not too shabby of an upgrade for twice the power and capabilities.
Just got one of these last week and currently playing Lies of P on medium settings at 30 fps no problem. It's pretty incredible for the size and price. Getting the onexgpu soon to pair with it.

I use this mini pc with the Kris Cool Mod 2 TB Lightgun drive and It plays everything. I totally recommend the minisforum brand!
Do you think it will play Kris Cool Mod 4 TB retrobeast drive?
I tried buying the 4t Chris cool mod twice and my bank denied it twice. Do you know why? Did it happen to you also. I ended up buying the 12T hyper spin external hard drive from Amazon but I am not impressed with the game selection on anything higher than PS1. I am a RPG fan and for example PS2 has 656 games and less than 15 to twenty are RPGs. That's pathetic to only have 2.5 percent RPG ratio. How is the selection on Chris cool mod? He's damn pricey! And again did your bank claim his site was possible fraud and deny the purchase? Thanks for responding hopefully

Did you buy the 4t already? Did your bank give you problems? I am a nervous person when it comes to buying online. So when my bank claimed twice that it was potentially a fraud site I gave up on buying his 4t external hard drive and bought the 12 t hyper spin external hard drive from Amazon. Not impressed with the tog selection though. After PS1 RPGs are almost non existent. If you have purchased the 4T from Chris how is the RPG selection from PS2 up? How many PS3 and equal to it is there? The hyperspin only has 21 PS3 and it doesn't even have Witcher or fallout 3 thanks for time if you respond which would be very much appreciated

Hey there, it always a challenge to get back to everyone on videos but I certainly try. UA-cam sends me about 20 random comment notifications a day but with over 1,700 videos you can see how that certainly leaves a lot of comments that I never even see. I never had a issue with kris coolmods site personally. You should be able to call your bank and let them know you are authorizing the transaction. I believe it's likely due to the fact that he's in Canada so banks usually see international charges as possible fraud especially if you're also using that card in the US around the same time. It just sees a significant distance between charges and pings it. I've had that issues on other transactions many times. His selections are definitely more well rounded than anything Kinhank has made.

Hey there, no all pcs come without games. You have to connect a game drive yourself or se tone up yourself.

I took a hole punch to those feet so I can access the screws without removing them. The UM690S will run all the way up to Wii emulated games at 4k from Batocera with no trouble.

Hi when running emulation games on it such as the pcsx2 have you had any issue where games woukd randomly temporarily freeze up for a few moments? Mainly during loadingscreens, cutescenes or ingame mechanic trigers?
I keep debating between getting the UM780 XTX or the SER7. The cons I see for SER7 is the proprietary power adapter, and lack of ports you mentioned. The cons for UM780 XTX is there is only 1 NvME spot if I use the oculink port, also I keep hearing issues with Minisforum's RMA and support. I guess I need to decide which cons I can live with more.

It would depend on the desktop gaming pc as they all have different specs.

There are DDR5 32GB and a 64GB versions. Why would I go with the 64GB version over the 32GB? (Sorry I'm a computer noob)

Unless something better comes around before I upgrade, I think this will be my next device. Currently on a SER5 MAX :) Can emulate GameCube at 3x resolution quite nicely, sometimes 4x. I don't play many AAA games on Steam but they do struggle to hit 1080p in a lot of cases lol! My monitor is a 1080p 60hz though, waiting to upgrade that too, I need something really bright and vivid since my eyes kinda suck. So when I upgrade that, I'll be pretty picky lol.

You absolutely can. You can use wired or wireless controllers.

I run Batocera from an hdd. When I run it on my laptop I have to switch it in the boot menu. For whatever reason I can't hook my laptop into my tv via hdmi when running Linux Batocera... Any issues connecting this through hdmi?
None. I've run my batocera external (I have batocera in an M.2 external drive) and it runs beautifully through the USB4 ports on the UM790Pro and the UM690S (these two I've verified, and soon will be able to compare to the 773Lite and the 690Pro. I have my mini's plugged into TV's via HDMI.

I was so excited all along the video, more than any other video...until he named the price. Damn. I was excited thinking I at least would have this one with the PS2 and PS3 games to keep me company since I don't own a PS4 or PS5 because, well...money; and now I see at the end that this costs pretty much a brand new PS5 with 2 or maybe 3 games. So yeah. Man tears coming out of my broke ass right now.
I haven't heard the price yet. I have a 12t hyper spin external hard drive and a gmk 5800 and I don't think it's powerful enough to play Xbox Xbox 360 and PS3 unless I figured out how to adjust stuff which I have no idea how to to do it. It does play PS2 and GameCube and stuff though. It's between 300 and 350 including tax. And if you know how to adjust things it would probably play everything because tech dweeb showed playing cyber punk 2077 and redhead redemption. So the gmk tech 5800 could be an option for you. My question is what other mini PC besides this minis forum can play what you are wanting to play? Isn't the ser5 or 6 or 7 good enough?
Yeah unfortunately this is what the cost is for this level of performance. It's pretty much that same price point across the board with specs anywhere in this range.
It's a fair price considering the fact you can pirate practically every game under the sun.

What is the advantage of a mini pc?
Every mini pc is different with specs. Laptops work as well. Some want to essentially create a game console from a pc so a mini pc works better I suppose in that smaller setup than a laptop. Looking purely at specs and capabilities though they are pretty evenly matched. You can go either way depending on personal preference.

I'm 43 and also played in the arcade. I'll look through my notes and see if I have anything written down about how I setup my Thrustmaster T.16000M for Model 3.
If that doesn't pan out I'll try setting it up again to see if I can remember how.

@@petesilvers5053Okay, so according to my notes, I had to download Supermodel UI to use the joystick. This is a GUI for the emulator and makes everything so much simpler since it's already set up to use an analog joystick. I have a note saying that a digital joystick will work but the movement of the targeting reticule is clunky and seems to move in block segments. This is why I upgraded from a T-Flight Hotas X to the Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS.

The barebones version is $430 right now (5/27) ... If you apply and get approved for an Amazon card you get $100 credit so basically $330 for this pc.
For this kind of money I will buy an Xbox seriesX and turn it into a retro console... with more possibilities

And I have 4 port USB hub for my wireless mouse and keyboard, whatever else I need and a 1 TB WD Passport HDD I've had for 14 years, I plug in 2 Evo 860 SSDs into the back and have a 2 TB nVMe plugged into a C port via an enclosure along with a USC STAT cable for charging my phone, PS5 controller or whatever despite I have a touch censor light with 4 USB A ports. Mine hasn't even shipped yet, close to it but according to Scamazon, I won't get it until the 22-25. I have 3 extra 2 TB WD Black nVMes, one a SN850 and 2 SN850X. So I'm good as far as space for games go. And lastly, a 500(465) GB Samsung Evo 970 Plus that was my first nVMe I got maybe 5 years ago that's literally just laying in a drawer
Tekken 8 ran pretty well on the Beelink Ser 6. I torrented, played and beat it maybe a month ago? And that's the 680M . The lack of ports is what is turning me away from the Ser 7. Plus the 2 USB A ports in the back are USB 2 just like on the Ser 6. So 4 USB 3, possibly 3.2 ports? I'm getting this. Because right now, it's $3.31 less than the Ser 7. Yeah, I'll have to wait 6-9 days instead of less than 1 for the Ser 7 but this is just until I can get the PC I Built what, 3 or 4 years ago that is AM4 with a Ryzen 5 5600X and a 3060Ti I haven't even gotten to use yet since my liquid cooler died on me twice and I can't get any of the 2 or 3 I've bought to mount, up and running again
Kinda thinking of just saying fuck it, dropping a few hundred and getting an eGPU because I wanted to get a 4070 Ti Super since that's the best you can get to pair with a 5600X but since I am going the way of the 7840hs that's 30% better than the 5600X? Might as well spend some extra on a eGPU. True, it'll be a pain in the ass and in the way probably but I should have just enough room for it to sit under my desk on top of my PC case and if not? I'll just put the eGPU where the PC is right now and that will be maybe half a foot shorter than the PC case from my estimate
And PCSX3? Is old, at least in terms of computing. 13 years old next week. So, PCSX3 will be a teenager on May 23rd lol. But just like the PS3 was a scam and a pain in the ass to code and develop for? So too, is the emulator. At least as far as being a pain in the ass goes
I ended up just saying fuck it and instead of getting the 512/32 GB package? I got the 1 TB/64 GB package. Only $82 more than the 512/32 GB and even though the only thing I do is game and surf the web? You never know. And aside from using more power? An eGPU probably uses additional RAM as well. And honestly, doubling 2 of the most important resources in your PC for less than $100? Why not. This way I''ll have 64 GB DDR5 in my mini PC and 32 GB DDR4 in my gaming PC that's been out of service due to overheating for a few years. If I can ever get or decide to pay someone to install one of my liquid coolers for me? Cool but now, I'm good either way
