Always enjoy your reviews, Shane. But a few things: You didnt mention that these are by far the lightest surfskate trucks on the market, which is an important feature. I do a lot of pumping around town on my Andromeda and im sure that having less weight swinging back and forth in the front saves energy.
Also there is zero slop in the joints, whereas in any bushing-style truck youre gonna have some slop. So more efficiency there too. And the spring gives lots of rebound on pumps.
The looseness means greater agility, at the cost of some stability. If youre used to more stable trucks, this could be offputting at first.
Another important feature is that you can dewedge it (tilt backward) and that will give less turn per lean, making it feel more stable.
Ive put a lot of distance on my Andromeda and everything is still tight and rock solid. Sounds like yours is a lukewarm opinion, and SurfskateLove panned them, but i love mine. And no im not paid or connected to Ovni, just a happy customer!

Hey Shane, thanks for the review. Judging from the video, I don't think I'd have much fun with these boards (I like to let myself go while I'm surfskating, and not to worry about whether my next carve will be the last thing I ever do on this earth - the width of those front hangers!!!), plus I would be concerned about the durability of the trucks, which look very light and flimsy to me.

They are light indeed, but not flimsy at all. By far the lightest surfskate truck available, but built rock solid. I've put a lot of distance on mine and everyting is still tight, zero slop. They appear very well made to me.

What's your opinion about the build quality of the trucks?

Hard pass on all of these boards. Accidents waiting to happen in my opinion. It would be nice to know if you usually buy your boards yourself. Just to be able to frame your opinion. You are a very skilled rider and can therefore make most boards look “pretty good”. Product reviews on gifted items can be somewhat biased.

Hey, which boards do you like that would be available in the US? I'm looking for an accessible surf skate that is durable and would allow fairly aggressive skating. I would be a beginner at surf skate, but have been a skateboarder for over 20 years.

@@shaun8062 Shaun, firstly it depends on whether you want to buy a complete or build your own (not difficult).
      - Complete: easy, expensive and average quality in the end.
      - Build your own: bit harder, less expensive and potential for great quality.
Most A-brands overcharge for their completes and use average quality components at best. Stock wheels, bushings and pivot cups are often crap. If you buy trucks, a deck, wheels, and bearings you can save up to 75-100 Euro with the best components available.
If you tell me which option you prefer, then I can tell you what I would do. I own a Smoothstar, YOWs, a Slide and a Loaded Bolsa. I also did some own builds. I replaced all stock wheels and some other components on all my completes.

@@rvdt4ever I'd prefer to build my own man. Thank you for your reply and I appreciate any advice you can give me.

@@shaun8062 I’ll write up what I would do later today. But the first thing you need to do is figure out your wheelbase range. This depends mainly on your stance width. Sometimes you see recommendations based on height (taller typically means wider stance). Wheelbase has a huge effect on how your board is going to ride. Check out Shredshack and Surfskatelove (their websites) for some detail on this.

@@rvdt4ever , yup, I agree. These boards look terrible for a beginner. intermediate and up will already have better boards. I am not quite sure who these boards are designed for.

    Andromeda looks way too wobbly.
