The first time we did this song at the convocation was in the late 70s under the direction of Dr. Mattie Moss Clark. Wow, how things come full circle! A great anthem.
I love it when The C. H. Mason Choir does Anthems. And they really did justice singing "A Mighty Fortess Is Our God". Terill Hall did a wonderful job leading this anthem.
I like the fast version of this hymn. But I would like to hear an ad lib bed version done by a grand soloist. Then end with the A mighty fortress ending. "A mighty fortress, a mighty fortress, a mighty fortress is our God."
I am desperate to obtain a copy of the piano score. Where can I purchase it? Is it sold at the COGIC publishing house? Thank you for your assistance. God bless you.
Could you be more specific? What words were changed? The tune was not off; you just are not accustomed to hearing a gospel Choir singing this song. COGIC is not in the American Evangelical tradition. It is in the African American Pentecostal Holiness tradition. If you're going to be critical, at least get your basis correct.
Why the negativity ,, if you can't say nothing good don't say nothing at all. Statements like that really disappointing ,as we are all Christians. We are to b known by our love for one another
This arrangement made the song much better. It fit the occasion and the setting perfectly, especially for a COGIC Holy Convocation official day. Shoutout to the arranger and shoutout to Dr. Judith McAllister for being masterful in directing and putting her spin on this arrangement. Very masterfully done. No disrespect but this worked extremely well for COGIC and clearly ushered a powerful worship moment in, if you watch the full video. If this doesn’t work for the Presbyterian church so be it, I understand but this is the Church of God in Christ. Signed COGIC P.K.
Yes He Is A Mighty Fortress!!!!

Me 2
Can I find this on Apple Music?
I'm not sure if this particular version is available on Apple Music.
This is a simplified rendition of a version that was done by Howard University.
Weak translation and very off tune. Why change the words when they are so strong?
You Must Be Tone-Deaf 'Cause I Have NO Idea What You're Talking About
It Sounds Great To Me
@@MusicMan1999 They changed to words away from strong Christian to weak American evangelical fluff.
😒
